Hawkeye To Guest Star On ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN

Posted: 30 Jan 2013 10:21 AM PST

"Spider-Man is in a lot of trouble and S.H.I.E.L.D. brings in Hawkeye to sort of act as his bodyguard and then it just goes awry," says Marvel Entertainment's head of television Jeph Loeb in an interview with TV Guide. "We looked at those '80s movies with two guys who should never be partners, like Lethal Weapon, and that's what you get with Spider-Man and Hawkeye as they go up against a major super villain [The Beetle]. They may kill each other before they stop the guy." Hawkeye will be voiced by Troy Baker, who will also voice the character in another upcoming Marvel cartoon series, Avengers Assemble. Ultimate Spider-Man airs Sundays at 11am/10c on Disney XD.

Oz the Great and Powerful

Travel to the Wonderful Land of Oz: The Great and Powerful

"The land you know, the Story you don't." Acclaimed director and artistic maestro Sam Raimi has created a visually stunning world with his first foray into family filmmaking: Oz: The Great and Powerful. A master at creating captivating landscapes and beautifully choreographed action sequences that appeal to young and old alike, this fantasy adventure also serves as the first 3D movie from the man who revolutionized the comic book genre and gave audiences one of pop cultures greatest modern day heroes.

A completely new and original story, Oz: The Great and Powerful follows the origins of Oscar Diggs, a swindler and magician who is whisked away to a magical world, where he encounters many new and wonderful creatures, as well as a trio of witches, all who help him fulfill a great destiny. This epic journey begins in cinemas in 3D on March 7th in Australia, followed by its American release on March 8th.

James Franco is Oz the Great and Powerful

Played by James Franco, Oscar Diggs is a small-time illusionist working for a two-bit traveling circus. He abides by a dubious set of ethics, getting by on his charm and handsome good looks. No stranger to winning over crowds or talking his way out of a sticky situation, this charlatan of sorts finds himself whisked away on a grand voyage to the vibrant and lush land of Oz that will change his life forever.

The Wonderful World of Oz the Great and Powerful

It is here that Oscar discovers a vast community of creatures great and small, living together in harmony. He believes that he has struck it rich. There is a jackpot of fame and fortune awaiting him in this newfound world full of color and magic. He isn't in Kansas any more, and that means a whole new career path is his for the taking...If he has the courage, heart, and brains to make the citizens of Oz believe that he is a true born leader.

Oscar Diggs and Finley in Oz The Great and Powerful

It won't be easy for Oscar. The fate of Oz is uncertain as a powerful new force threatens this magical land's once peaceful way of life. Diggs can either fight or flee, a decision that will change his life forever. Claiming to be a great and powerful wizard, Oscar attracts the attention of three beautiful witches, none of whom believe that he is the chosen one Oz has been expecting.

Evenora and Theodora in Oz the Great and Powerful

Playing this trio of witches is three of today's most popular young actresses. Mila Kunis is Theodora, the good witch. Rachel Weisz is Evanora, the bad witch. And Michelle Williams rounds out the cast as Glinda, the wise witch. At the heart of Oz: The Great and Powerful lies a great mystery, as there is also a Wicked Witch who wants to surpass Oscar Diggs and rule Oz. Who is 'The Wicked Witch?' That is a question Oscar must discover for himself if he is to save this mysterious kingdom and its people.

Oscar Diggs Befriends Theodora in Oz the Great and Powerful

The first decision Oscar Diggs must make upon landing in Oz is: Panic? Hide? Or befriend a witch? He makes the seemingly wise choice in taking the hand of Theodora, a kindhearted citizen of Oz who wants to help Diggs on his quest. As it turns out, though, this particular Witch is a bit of a conman herself, and she proves to have an unexpectedly wicked side that might derail Oscar's quest. This is one witch with a sneaky plan up her sleeve, and though she never trusts the illusionist, she never lets on that she can see beyond his fa&#231ade. Theodora is the Witch of the West...But is she the Wicked Witch?

Evenora meets Oscar Diggs in Oz The Great and Powrful

Evanora, played by Rachel Weisz, is Theodora's over-protective sister. The Witch of the East, Evanora never claims to be anything but evil. Is she the Wicked Witch? Her bad attitude deflects some much-needed attention away from her younger sibling, having positioned herself as the royal advisor and protector of Oz. She never pretends to enjoy the company of Oscar Diggs, and she is anything but nice. Her rueful attitude causes Oscar concern for alarm. When Evanora is around, this handsome young card shark knows he must watch his back. Oscar and Evanora never quite see eye-to-eye on anything in the land of Oz, and she is the first suspect on Diggs' list when it comes to discovering the true identity behind the Wicked Witch.

Glinda the Good Witch in Oz the Great and Powerful

Glinda the Good Witch raises little suspicion from Oscar. Though a golden light of good will and always trusting of others, she doesn't immediately take to the magician's wily ways, either. Played by Michelle Williams, Glinda is friend to all creatures, and the ruler of this kind, quiet kingdom of simple folks. She is a fierce protector who must question Diggs' aspirations to claim himself Oz: The Great and Powerful. She can immediately see through this street magician's devilish smile. Nonetheless, she does recognize his audacity. The man has a good heart, so she reluctantly helps him along on his journey. Glinda paves the way for Oscar to protect and save this colorful kingdom, but does she have an ulterior motive? Is it even possible that she could be the Wicked Witch?

Glinda the Good Witch and The Munchkins in Oz the Great and Powerful

Throughout Oscar's adventures in the Land of Oz, he must constantly weigh his options. There are epic problems arising that only he may be able to solve, so he has to ask himself, "Who is good?" And, more importantly, "Who is evil?"

Finley, China Girl, and Oscar Diggs in Oz the Great and Powerful

Diggs doesn't take on the challenges of this journey alone. As he must travel on the road through the Dark Forest to gain control of Oz, the misplaced illusionist seeks the help of friends such as China Girl, Knuck and Finley. He must also contend with the Winkies, uniformed guards under Evanora's control in Emerald city, as well as the kind hearted country folk known as the Quadlings, and the iconic race of happy, little people lovingly referred to as The Munchkins.

Finley and China Girl in Oz the Great and Powerful

Voiced by Joey King, China Girl hails from the village of China Town, where everything is made of delicate China. When the Wicked Witch plots destruction against the inhabitants of Oz, her tiny township doesn't fare quite so well. The resilient young girl decides to help her friends and family by befriending the unlikely savoir that is Diggs, and joins him on his trip through Oz. The pair are also accompanied by Finley, voiced by Zach Braff, a flying monkey that becomes both a loyal ally and a best friend to our struggling hero, despite his growing skepticism.

Munchkin Land in Oz the Great and Powerful

Like China Town, the Emerald City, and Munchkin land, Oz: The Great and Powerful introduces vast new landscapes that enhance the established topography of Oz, turning it into a sprawling, magical kingdom that is sure to captivate audiences of all sizes and ages. Presented in 3D, Sam Raimi creates Oz: The Great and Powerful as a visual feast that is sure to be remembered in the years to come.

Oz The Great and Powerful

Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity, and even a bit of wizardry, Oscar Diggs must transform himself not only into Oz: The Great and Powerful, but into a better man as well. Go on the adventure with your entire family, in Australia on March 7 and in America March 8. In 3D and 2D cinemas. It is the story you don't know...In the land you do!

Oz: The Great and Powerful comes to theaters March 8th, 2013 and stars Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, James Franco, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff, Abigail Spencer, Joey King, Bill Cobbs. The film is directed by Sam Raimi.

Robert Downey Jr. Talks IRON MAN 3 And Sir Ben Kingsley's Mandarin

Posted: 30 Jan 2013 09:38 AM PST

Entertainment Weekly has posted today's segment from their extensive interview with Iron Man 3 star Robert Downey Jr., and in the third segment of a five-part chat, the actor discusses the role of Sir Ben Kingsley's Mandarin in the anticipated Marvel sequel. Reiterating prior comments made about the Oscar award winning actor's take on the legendary villain, Downey says that Kingsley will likely steal the show. "Sir Ben is probably going to steal the movie. There are a lot of contenders who may, but right now he's probably at the top of that list. He came in as, obviously – speaking of training – as such a technically proficient instrument. And then what proceeded to happen was the release of more vintage, old-school Favreau [improv] stuff with a Shane Black twist on it. It was kind of frightening to witness, I'll tell you that much." Downey also commented on bonding with Kingsley

See Tom Hiddleston As A Vampire In ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE

Posted: 30 Jan 2013 09:02 AM PST

The pic comes courtesy of Indiewire, who describe the film as eh story of Adam, "an underground musician who's deeply depressed by the direction of human activities. He reunites with his centuries-long lover, Eve (Swinton), though their idyll is soon interrupted by Eve's wild and uncontrollable younger sister Ava (Mia Wasikowska)". Only Lovers Left Alive also stars John Hurt and Anton Yelchin, and doesn't have a release date yet. Something tells be that this being a Jim Jarmusch movie we shouldn't expect too much blood n gore, or even that it will necessarily be a horror film, but I look forward to it nonetheless.
