Posted: 21 Jan 2013 10:23 AM PST Due to the overwhelming response to the planned secret screenings of the latest Troma productions during the Sundance Film Festival, the TromaDance Film Festival Committee is pleased to announce that it has secured a larger venue at which to screen Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson 's The Taint, along with trailers for the latest Troma productions, and a premiere of the product reel for Lloyd Kaufman's event Return to Nuke 'Em High Vol. 1 at The Complex in Salt Lake City from 9pm to 1:30am on Wednesday, January 23rd. The event will also feature a live performance by improv punk-a-billy rock and roll band Rev Mayhem. For those of you unable to make the event, we have The Taint trailer and poster, as well as some photos, and the posters for Return to Nuke 'Em High, which are plastered all over Park City, Utah. The Taint - TrailerTromaDance founder Lloyd Kaufman had this to say about the event. "The TromaDance Film Festival enjoyed 10 successful years in Park City, and while we brought the festival home to New Jersey in 2010, we still consider it our duty to offer an unforgettable alternative to the fine mainstream movies at the Sundance Film Festival by screening truly independent, artful films. With Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson 's visionary, intellectual film The Taint, which features more zombies with exploding penises than any other film in history, we guarantee that viewers will see something special that they would otherwise never see at the Sundance Film Festival." The event is for ages 21 and over and will feature a full bar; DVD screeners, stickers, posters, and other Troma swag will also be available upon request. The TromaDance Film Festival would like to thank Night Flight Comics and the staff at The Complex for supporting independent art and making this event possible! However, when asked if he is working on any big future projects, he revealed that he has been asked by Disney to create new artwork for Star Wars, including perhaps Episode VII. He says that while nothing is set in stone just yet, and despite wanting to stay retired, the prospect of his painting new artwork for one or more of Disney's Star Wars films is still a possibility. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Confirms the Return of Bruce Willis as Hartigan Posted: 21 Jan 2013 09:08 AM PST Director Robert Rodriguez's highly-anticipated sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will feature a number of Sin City stars, such as Jessica Alba as Nancy, Mickey Rourke as Marv, and Rosario Dawson as Gail. The filmmaker also confirmed that Bruce Willis will return as Hartigan. " "Bruce is back, so you'll be seeing him." The director also spoke about Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, who we first reported on earlier this month. "We can't wait for him to come play with us. It's a new character. He plays a gambler, a very cocky gambler, who comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. The story is called 'The Long, Bad Night.' He beats the wrong guy in a game and bad stuff happens to him." He also spoke about shooting this sequel in 3D, and how they are using the new 3D cameras from James Cameron and Vince Pace. "We're really playing with stuff because that's a very two dimensional world and to see that stylization in 3D, it'll blow people's minds. 3D hasn't been used like this yet. We're using the latest James Cameron and Vince Pace cameras. They just got off the factory line. They look like Ferarri's. They're beautiful. They're small, compact, but they're still Alexa's. They're fast. They're not slowing us down at all." One role that has still not been filled is The Dame. Robert Rodriguez revealed they still have a few choices they are eyeing for the role. "We still have The Dame. We have some choices in mind, but we haven't finalized anything. She doesn't shoot for a couple more weeks." Sin City: A Dame to Kill For comes to theaters October 4th, 2013 and stars Jamie Chung, Jessica Alba, Alexa Vega, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Michael Madsen, Dennis Haysbert. The film is directed by Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez. |
