Marvel Studios Secures Summer 2014 Release Dates for Two Movies

Posted: 08 Aug 2011 10:52 AM PDT

Marvel Studios secures summer 2014 release dates for two unknown films

Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures have handed out Summer 2014 release dates for two upcoming movies, although the studios aren't saying which movies have landed the release dates yet. The first unspecified project will be released on May 16, 2014, just two weeks after The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and the second unknown project will be released on June 27, 2014.

In related news, Pixar has followed suit and issued a May 30, 2014 for one of its unspecified animated projects. Pixar has also handed out an October 4, 2013 release for an untitled 3D project from director Henry Selick, and an August 15, 2012 release date for The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

It isn't clear why Marvel and Disney are staking out release dates for titles they aren't ready to reveal yet. There certainly are a number of superhero projects in development at Marvel Studios, so we'll have to wait and see which movies have landed these summer release dates.
