COMICS: Dave Gibbons On Whether The Watchmen Should Join The DCnU

Posted: 11 Aug 2011 10:38 AM PDT

Zack Snyder's Watchmen was considered something of a box office failure on it's release. But many fans and critics hail the movie as a flawed masterpiece and it's certaiinly very popular here on CBM. But does anyone really want to see more from those characters? The movie's lack of solid BO means that we will most likely be spared a sequel despite persistent rumors to the contrary, but what about a follow up to Alan Moore's cherished comic? Apparently there are murmurs of having The Watchmen brought back, either for a sequel or a reinvention, and joining the rest of the rebooted characters in the DCnU. CBR caught up with legendary artist/writer and co creator of the Watchmen Dave Gibbons to get his thoughts on the matter.. "I think, without wishing to sound like a deposed dictator or a mob boss, that I'd like to take the Fifth and at this point

Posted: 11 Aug 2011 10:34 AM PDT

Talking to the Canadian press while promoting her new movie, One Day, actress Anne Hathaway has said that director Christopher Nolan is doing "insane things" with his latest installment in the Batman franchise. "Honestly, wait until you see this movie. It's going to be marvellous and it's going to be way beyond what anyone imagines it could be," she added. The actress, who as you know plays Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises also says she's having an "absolute blast" working with Nolan and star Christian Bale. "The thing that's most wonderful about Chris is that he's the most successful filmmaker in Hollywood - yet his movies aren't Hollywood. It feels like you're making an indie. He's actually a really alternative filmmaker. He just happens to have like a seven-billion-dollar budget!" "You can't imagine the things that he's doing. At least, I couldn't until I read the script!" And here's a separate video interview

Looking for a late 80s / early 90's movie

Posted: 11 Aug 2011 09:31 AM PDT

Hey reddit, I am trying to find the name of a movie from my childhood. Pretty much all I remember about it is that it involved a boat (the cast was sailing around the ocean). At one point one of the characters experienced manhood when he found a blue colored Shiva goddess. At another point on the movie there was a woman floating in the ocean and the crew cast a net on her and pulled her in the boat. She got pissed because she was trying to set a world record for swimming across the ocean.

Any ideas?
