'Glee' Stars Dish on Graduating Rumors

Posted: 09 Aug 2011 11:13 AM PDT

"Extra" correspondent Jerry Penacoli sat down with the cast of "Glee" to talk about their upcoming "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie" -- and the hoopla surrounding the reports that key cast members Lea Michele, Corey Monteith and Chris Colfer will be "graduating" from the show at the end Season 3.
lea michele-chris colfer- cory monteith.jpg
The show's creator Ryan Murphy recently announced Michele, Monteith and Colfer would be leaving the show after the next season because their characters are seniors and would realistically be exiting high school. But during last week's FOX TCA tour, network executives clarified that it still an ongoing creative process and nothing concrete has been decided. Michele, who plays overachiever Rachel Berry, understands the rationale, telling Penacoli, "Honestly for me, I started this show as a sophomore, and it's my third season, so I kind of figured it goes: sophomore, junior, senior." Colfer, who plays the precocious Kurt Hummel, concurred that the whole thing has been blown out of proportion, "Absolutely, yes." Is there truth they are leaving the show? Monteith, who plays the earnest Finn Hudson, replied, "A lot of us are still going to be here and happy to be doing the show. I'll be here as long as they'll have me, but I don't know what the future holds." Meanwhile, the show's stars are excited about their concert movie -- even if some of the fans were a tad too zealous during the filming. Darren Criss, who plays Kurt's talented boyfriend Blaine Anderson, said, "As they were giving like high fives at the end of the show, someone just held on -- and essentially pulled me off stage!" "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie" warbles into theaters August 12.

Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton has undergone radical laser surgery but should be ready to roll when the band plays a string of dates in South America and Japan later this year.

According to Ksat.com (via NME), Hamilton had the procedure last week to remove cancer of the throat and tongue. The operation was deemed a success; there was no damage to his airway or voice.

The rocker seems to be in good spirits, too, as he tweeted over the weekend: "We've got a major pile of good songs to work on." Hamilton and the gang are hard at work on Aerosmith's long-awaited new album, the follow-up to 2004's 'Honkin' on Bobo' (although their last proper studio effort was 2001's 'Just Push Play').

Jordi Vidal, Redferns

Austin Powers once famously asked, "Who throws a shoe? Honestly?" Well James Richardson of MGMT learned this weekend that a gigantic crowd of festivalgoers will readily throw their sneakers, sandals or whatever else they're wearing if you ask them to.

Speaking to the audience at US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, Calif., Richardson yelled, "I don't think you guys got crazy enough yet! Everybody give me your left shoe, right now!" and was promptly pelted with assorted footwear. After dodging the barrage he conceded "That was probably a bad idea."

RESULTS: Which Lee/Ditko Villain Would You Like To See In The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

Posted: 09 Aug 2011 08:54 AM PDT

While the past few decades have seen the creation of such classic Spider-Man villains as Venom, Carnage and Morlun, there can be no doubting the fact that the real classics were brought to life in the 1960's by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. With The Amazing Spider-Man bringing the Lizard to the big screen for the first time, most fans are hoping to see more of the duos characters introduced in the recently announced sequel. Although Sam Raimi's trilogy gave us Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Sandman, there is nothing stopping new director using them again...especially as the portrayal of them in the past was vastly different to the originals in many respects. I asked you guys to vote on which of these classic villains you'd most like to see when the sequel hits the big screen on May 4th, 2014, and the results were quite the shocker...
