EXCLUSIVE: Seven Bunraku Character Photos Posted: 23 Aug 2011 11:44 AM PDT A mysterious drifter (Josh Hartnett) and an ardent young Japanese warrior named Yoshi (Gackt) both arrive in a town that has been terrorized by outrageous and virulent criminals. Each is obsessed with his separate mission, and guided by the wisdom of The Bartender (Woody Harrelson) at the Horseless Horseman Saloon, the two eventually join forces to bring down the corrupt and contemptuous reign of Nicola (Ron Perlman), the awesomely evil woodcutter and his lady Alexandra (Demi Moore), a femme fatale with a secret past. Julianne Hough Still 'Footloose' with Ryan Seacrest Posted: 23 Aug 2011 11:25 AM PDT "Footloose" starlet Julianne Hough said she loved attending Kim Kardashian's wedding over the weekend, but she and boyfriend Ryan Seacrest are not following suit any time soon. "I'm not anywhere near a wedding right now, but it was a beautiful wedding!" Hough gushed to "Extra" about the Kardashian-Humphries nuptials. Talking with the dancer/actress at the "Footloose" junket, in which she stars as Ariel Moore, Hough said she was named (at the wedding) one of the best-dressed guests, high-fivin' her "Footloose" co-star Kenny Wormald on the accomplishment. Hough laughed, "It was awesome! You're at the Kardashian wedding, there's like a gazillion people there, if that dress was on somebody else it would have been unbelievable as well. Will and Jada Breakup Rumor: Did They or Didn't They? Posted: 23 Aug 2011 11:39 AM PDT Hollywood power couple Jada Pinkett and Will Smith are separating, according to In Touch. Their reps have not confirmed the story. TMZ reported calling Jada's rep, who said, "What? In Touch said that? I know nothing about this... Lord, I'm going back to bed." UsWeekly reports that the sudden rumors of their breakup is false, saying an insider close to the family said the story is "100-percent not true. It's total bulls***." Back in 2009, the mother-of-two shot down criticism of her marriage, saying, "I've heard all the things -- their marriage is not real, he's gay, she's gay, they swing. But at the end of the day, people have to believe what they have to believe. I'll tell you what, it's too hard to be in a pretend marriage. Life's too short for that one." Will's son, Trey, tweeted, "Did #WillandJada split? No they did NOT split ! False information ..its not true RETWEET!!!" The seemingly happy couple, who graced the cover of Architectural Digest just last month, gave readers a breathtaking look inside their 25,000-square foot Southern California mansion. Will described the layout of the home, explaining it had a deeper meaning behind the way it was structured, saying there were no dead ends, in order "to create an infinite cycle that represented what Jada and I had hoped for our love." The pair first met on the set of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," when Pinkett auditioned for the role of Will's girlfriend. The actress didn't get the part, but won his heart in real life and in 1997, married Smith in an extravagant wedding at a mansion in Baltimore. Mr. and Mrs. Smith's Megamansion! The "Men in Black" star was previously married to former fashion design student Sheree Zampino for three years and divorced in 1995. The marriage yielded a son, Willard Christopher Smith, also known as Trey, who is now 18. In past interviews with "Extra," Jada seemed perfectly happy in her marriage -- a few years back, Jada beamed about celebrating a big milestone, saying, "Ten years [anniversary] baby! Ten carats for ten years!" The actress also joked she and Will keep the marriage alive with "lots and lots of sex," and even scolded "Extra's" Steve Santagati for forgetting to say her full last name after he said, "I'm here with Jada Pinkett." According to the Sun, West London resident and alleged Internet "squatter" Martin McCann purchased the domain name Amywinehousefoundation.com just hours after the late singer's father, Mitch, announced plans to set up a treatment center for drug addicts in her name. McCann also registered the charity's name with the U.K. government agency Companies House, preventing Mitch from setting up a bank account and forcing the grieving former cabbie to return money donated by fans.

Songwriting Giant Nick Ashford Dead at Age 70 Posted: 23 Aug 2011 10:47 AM PDT Prolific songwriter Nick Ashford of Ashford & Simpson died Monday in New York City. He was 70. Ashford was diagnosed with throat cancer and had undergone radiation treatment, according to former publicist and longtime friend, Liz Rosenberg. Ashford, along with wife Valerie Simpson, wrote some of Motown's most notable, soulful numbers for singers such as Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan. Monster hits such as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Reach Out and Touch Somebody's Hand," "You're All I Need to Get By," and "I'm Every Woman," have become timeless classics. "They had magic, and that's what creates those wonderful hits, that magic," said Verdine White of Earth, Wind and Fire after learning of his friend's death. "Without those songs, those artists wouldn't have been able to go to the next level." The husband and wife duo also experienced success singing their own songs; perhaps the most popular was the 1980s hit, "Solid As a Rock." Nick and Valerie met in 1964 at Harlem's White Rock Baptist Church. Ashford, a South Carolina native born in 1941, came to the Big Apple to pursue a career in dance. Valerie Simpson was an 18-year-old music student from the Bronx, and after connecting with Nick, their songwriting began. Their first major success came from writing "Let's Get Stoned" for Ray Charles. The song sparked the attention of Motown producers, and the couple soon began penning hit after hit. "The thing is, they were married and working together, that was what was special about them; everybody admired that," White said. In recent years, Ashford & Simpson continued to tour sporadically and opened Sugar Bar in 1996 -- a live entertainment venue in New York City. Ashford is survived by his wife and two daughters, Nicole and Asia.

The Hunger Games to Debut Footage at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards Posted: 23 Aug 2011 10:39 AM PDT MTV today revealed that ravenous fans of The Hunger Games need not look further than the "2011 MTV Video Music Awards" for an exclusive first glimpse at the film that will be introduced by the film's star Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone, X-Men: First Class). The "2011 "2011 MTV Video Music Awards" will air live from Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT.) Set in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where North America once existed, The Hunger Games follows the quest of "Tributes" - one teenage boy and girl chosen from each of the country's twelve districts - as they compete in The Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for the Hunger Games their entire lives, the main character, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy.
