Iron Man Stunt Double And Suit Spotted; New Set Video Features More Epic Destruction! Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:38 AM PDT Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," and "Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel's The Avengers" is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, "Marvel's The Avengers" brings together the mightiest super hero characters as they all assemble together on screen for the first time. The star studded cast of super heroes will be joined by Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård. Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:22 AM PDT Both X-Men: First Class and Captain America: The First Avenger were successful, critically and financially, with Cap still playing in theatres worldwide, so studio can expect more money by the end of its run. Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class will arrive first on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 9, while Captain America: The First Avenger is expected to be released sometime in October (October 25th is an unconfirmed release date). Nick Nolte Joins The Gangster Squad Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:11 AM PDT Ruben Fleischer is bound and determined to collect the most combustible actors around for his Los Angeles noir thriller The Gangster Squad. After hiring notoriously unhinged personalities such as Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, and Giovanni Ribisi, the director has added his cherry on top by casting Nick Nolte into the fray. Nick Nolte will play newly appointed Chief of Police Bill Parker in this real-life drama about how L.A.'s gangster division was formed. A Purple Heart recipient for his valor at Normandy, it was Bill Parker who formed The Gangster Squad. His main target is West Coast gangster Mickey Cohen, played by Sean Penn. The Gangster Squad is set to rival The Avengers in terms of its ensemble casting. Its one of the most exciting line-ups in decades. It will be disappointing if their on-set behavior doesn't match their notorious reputations. The Gangster Squad comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Peña, Anthony Mackie, Holt McCallany, Emma Stone. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer.

Dirty Dancing Remake Brings on Writer Maria Maggenti Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:31 AM PDT Writer Maria Maggenti has been hired by Lionsgate to pen the screenplay for director Kenny Ortega's Dirty Dancing remake. The original coming-of-age drama followed a young woman (Jennifer Grey) who joins her upscale family for a vacation in the Catskills. There, she meets Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze), the resident dance instructor who teaches her about life and dance. It is not known how closely this new version will adhere to its predecessor, or if it will utilize the same 1963 time period. Lionsgate is moving fast to get Dirty Dancing before the camera, hoping to find the same success the original did. The writing job on Dirty Dancing was highly coveted, with Maria Maggenti landing the gig due in part to her work on the teen girl fantasy Monte Carlo. Dirty Dancing comes to theaters in 2013. The film is directed by Kenny Ortega.

Matthew Fox Detained on Assault Charges Posted: 29 Aug 2011 11:20 AM PDT Actor Matthew Fox, best known as Dr. Jack Shepherd on the hit show "Lost," was involved in an altercation over the weekend, in which he allegedly attacked a female bus driver. Originally reported by TMZ, Fox was detained by the authorities in Cleveland on Saturday after he tried to board a party bus outside a bar, even though he wasn't a guest on the vehicle. Fox was asking to be taken to his hotel. He then punched the driver in the breast and the "stomach area" when she tried to block his entry. In the police report obtained by "Extra," the woman fought back, tagging Fox in the mouth and "causing a cut on his lip." The woman also told police she may have broken her hand during the altercation and would seek medical attention. The "Lost" star was detained and later released to a friend without being formally arrested.

According to People, sources claim the two are getting close, revealing, "We have seen Minka and Ramon talking in his trailer way after hours, and often late into the night. They have been together long after they need to be for the show." Minka and Derek Say Goodbye Another insider denies the romance, explaining, "They're just friends. Ramon is basically the only guy on set, so of course they all hang out with him." Rodriguez, 31, plays John Bosley in the TV reboot, and is best known for his roles in "The Wire" and "Day Break." Kelly, 31, and Jeter, 37, dated seriously for the last several years and even talked about planning a big wedding. The exes say they ended on good terms and that they are "still friends."
