The Avengers Producer Comments On Status Of Filming; More Minor Plot Details Revealed!

Posted: 28 Aug 2011 09:38 AM PDT

have posted a brief statement from Jeremy Latcham, co-producer of The Avengers for Marvel Studios, who revealed that there is only two days of filming left in New York once they wrap things up in Cleveland, and then the movie is finished! The site has also added some revealing new details about filming, but be sure to check out the report in full by clicking on the link below. "It was great to see them come out every day. They took tons of pictures and put them up on the Internet, which is just great. Cleveland has been amazing. We wanted a real street feeling to the scenes, and we got that. After that Joss takes it all back to L.A. and creates the movie." And although we know bits and pieces of the following, there are a few interesting new tidbits of information contained with these filming details. A Russian facility?

Law & Order: Los Angeles' Corey Stoll Conveys Interest in Playing Dr. Strange

Posted: 28 Aug 2011 09:31 AM PDT

Corey Stoll played LAPD Detective Tomas "TJ" Jaruszalski on NBC's Law & Order: LA. The show also starred Alfred Molina, but was officially canceled on May 13, 2011. Since then Corey Stoll has blown away audiences and critics with his brilliant depiction of the great American writer, Ernest Hemingway. Corey sat down with the website I Am Rogue for an exclusive interview and they asked him about his desire to be in a superhero movie. After giving his geeky credentials, the writer of the article suggests a superhero for him to play, and Corey excitedly jumps at the proposition. What follows is an excerpt from the interview I read in an interview that though you're interesting in continuing to make movies aimed at adults, you'd also be interested in appearing in a superhero movie. So often there's a reluctance to engage with genre material, and I was curious where that impulse comes

RESULTS: What Did You Think Of Conan The Barbarian?

Posted: 28 Aug 2011 08:50 AM PDT

In all the movie polls I have featured on CBM this is the one that has had the most votes for the most negative option. With 453 Votes, 39.95% of you thought that Marcus Nispel's Conan The Barbarian was garbage. The next highest was the more positive second option with 296 Votes (26.10%). The general consensus from the comments section seems to be: Bad script, bad acting, bad special effects, decent stunts. Now I would never let any critic or majority poll influence my decision to see a movie if I really wanted to, but since I as on the fence anyway, and I usually find you lot are quite lenient with movies in general, I'm gonna pass on this. I'll catch it on DVD..and if it's awesome we will be having words! By TwitterButtons.com

Location And Brief Filming Details For The Dark Knight Rises' New Batcave Revealed!

Posted: 28 Aug 2011 08:06 AM PDT

WalesOnline (and the Wales On Sunday newspaper) report that The Dark Knight Rises has found its Batcave in the Brecon Beacons in Wales. A waterfall will reportedly double for the exterior of the cave, with filming already having taken place a few weeks ago. According to the site, "The 90ft waterfall near the village of Coelbren is the highest in the park and a tourist favourite because of a path that takes intrepid walkers behind the waterfall." One local, named in the report as an "insider", who spotted the movie being filmed added: "They were there for a couple of days just a few weeks ago. I understand it's going to be used in the opening sequence of the film, as Batman discovers the Batcave. But we'll have to wait and see." Samantha Games, of the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, said the region is popular with filmmakers because of its unspoilt views

Can anyone decode this apparently old-timey slang line from "The Hustler" (1961, Paul Newman) for me? Internet doesn't seem to know.

Gordon: You're damn right I'm sure. Everybody's got talent. I got talent. You think you can play big-money straight pool or poker for forty straight hours on nothing but talent? You think they call Minnesota Fats the best in the country just 'cause he got talent? Nah, Minnesota Fats's got more character in one finger than you got in your whole skinny body.

Eddie: I got drunk.

Gordon: He drank as much whiskey as you do.

Eddie: Maybe he knows how to drink.

Gordon: You bet he knows how. You think that's a talent too, huh, knowin' how to drink whiskey? You think Minnesota Fats was born knowin' how to drink?

Eddie: Okay, okay, what do I do now? Lie down on the floor and, uh, bow from the ankles? What do I do, go home?

Gordon: That's your problem.

tldr: "lie down on the floor and bow from the ankles" - What the hell is that supposed to mean???

inspired by the post about world war z on the frontpage now.

I can think of a few reasons but all of them have counter reasons... does anyone know why they do this?
