The Artist Comes to Blu-ray and DVD June 26th

The Artist comes home on Blu-ray and DVD June 26th

The recipient of five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Musical Score and Best Costume Design, The Artist, arrives on Blu-ray and DVD with UltraViolet&#8482 June 26th from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Declared "a love letter to the movies" by The Los Angeles Times, The Artist is the recipient of three Golden Globe Awards -- more than any other picture -- including Best Comedy, Best Actor and Best Score. The film also took home the top prize for Achievement in Directing in a Theatrical Release from the Directors Guild of America, and Oscar Winning Best Actor (Jean Dujardin) won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor.

Uggie, the film's surprise breakout star and 10-year-old Jack Russell terrier, also took home the top honor from the first annual "Golden Collar Awards." Set in 1927, The Artist tells the story of film superstar George Valentin (Jean Dujardin) who is about to be banished from the movie business by the advent of talking pictures. With the introduction of "The Talkies," as movies with sound were known at their onset, came the abrupt end to the careers of many silent film stars, including George's screen persona, which soon falls into oblivion. For young, movie extra Peppy Miller (B&#233r&#233nice Bejo), the sky's the limit, and major movie stardom awaits.

Starring Jean Dujardin (George Valentin) and B&#233r&#233nice Bejo (Peppy Miller), The Artist also features dynamic performances by: John Goodman (Al Zimmer); James Cromwell (Clifton); Penelope Ann Miller (Doris); Malcolm McDowell (the Butler); and 10-year-old Uggie the dog, most recently featured in Water for Elephants, barking opposite Robert Pattinson. The film also includes an all-star lineup of filmmakers, including: writer/director Michel Hazanavicius; producer Thomas Langmann; director of photography Guillaume Schiffman; and production designer Laurence Bennett.

The Artist Blu-ray and The Artist DVD are packed with extras for both movie aficionados and casual film fans: Blooper Reel; Q&A with the filmmakers and cast; "Hollywood As A Character: The Locations of The Artist" Featurette, which takes viewers on a tour of film locations; "The Artist: The Making of A Hollywood Love Story" Featurette, allowing fans to go behind the scenes on set; and four mini Featurettes, "The Artisans Behind The Artist," providing a look at the film's costume designs, cinematography, production design and the composer. The Artist also includes UltraViolet&#8482, an entirely new way to collect, access and enjoy your digital entertainment.

'Housewife' Eva Longoria on Her Dating Status: 'I'm Single'

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 11:33 AM PDT

"Extra's" AJ Calloway caught up with actress Eva Longoria in the Big Apple, where she's promoting Pepsi NEXT -- and asked the "Desperate Housewives" star about her relationship status.

eva-longoria.jpg

She laughed, "No new news. I'm single," she said, confirming that she's no longer dating Eduardo Cruz.

As for rumors her good friend Kim Kardashian is dating Kanye West, Longoria said, "I thought they were friends for a long time. I'm not surprised by any relationship news by anybody."

Eva is gearing up for the series finale of "Desperate Housewives," but she says she doesn't know how it will all end. "I don't know, it hasn't been written yet. We're wrapping in three more weeks. Three more episodes, that's an eternity. I'm not going to die, I don't think."

Instead, Longoria is looking forward to shooting a new pilot with "Housewives" creator Marc Cherry, called "Devious Maids" and co-starring Rosalyn Sanchez and Susan Lucci. "It's about four maids and their employers and their relationships. It's funny and dramatic. Everything 'Desperate Housewives' was, but with that Latin twist."

Check out a gallery of Eva's greatest looks through the years!

Neon Trees & Kaskade, 'Lessons in Love (All Day, All Night)' -- Song Premiere

As Neon Trees prepare to release their sophomore album Picture Show, the multi-platinum selling Utah natives have returned with a galloping, New Wave-inspired take on their 2011 collaboration with stadium house hero Kaskade.

Entirely as catchy as the synth-heavy trance version which appeared on Kaskade's Fire & Ice, the Neon Trees' take trades Kaskade's mega-house sound for a rollicking bass line and New Order-influenced guitars.

"I'm so thrilled how it turned out," frontman Tyler Glenn tells Spinner RPM. "Kaskade's remixed version was so big and abrasive, in a wonderful way. We needed to keep that sultry dark cool to it."

Ideal Movie

Posted: 09 Apr 2012 11:12 AM PDT

Let's talk about our ideal movies. I'll start. I would love to see a movie about corruption in the politics with Matt Damon as a newly elected President, Jeff Bridges as his Vice- President, Mark Wahlberg as his head Secret Service agent and throughout the course of the movie Matt Damon becomes increasingly aware of the corruption and abuse of the political power that Congress uses, therefore leading to him coming down hard on Congress with executive orders that lead to major tension between the majority of Congress and the President, his cabinet and supporters in Congress. Mark Wahlberg uncovers assassination plans and then a "war" breaks out in the highest offices of government and it becomes party vs. party. At the end Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges are pitted in a battle of patience and political power against Ed Harris, who is the speaker of the house, and Gary Oldman, who plays a power hungry CEO of a major oil corporation. Obviously, this is just a quick over-view of the story, I would like there to be more backstory on Wahlberg and more focus on the public opinion on the political tension and its effects on the average American, and definitely include real-life scandals in the plot. Tell me what you think, and please share your movie ideas.
