'Avengers' Style: Scarlett Johansson Glams It Up in Vogue

Posted: 12 Apr 2012 11:09 AM PDT

Badass "The Avengers" star Scarlett Johansson turns '40s starlet, with leopards and silk, as the May cover of Vogue, talking to the magazine about her divorce, the hacking incident -- and a surprising new beau in her life.

scar-jo.jpg

Johansson described her divorce from actor Ryan Reynolds last year as "comically amicable," but the parting was far from painless. "It was horrible," she said. "Of course it's horrible. It was devastating. It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn't work out."

As for having her phone hacked last year, which sent nude pictures of her across the internet, the actress is still bothered by it. "It wasn't just me. It was others. I don't want to be a victim and say, 'Oh, well' and just hide my head in shame. Somebody stole something from me... It's sick. I don't want people like that to slide."

The actress has now been dating a New York-based advertising creative director named Nate Naylor. For Johansson, dating a real-life Don Draper has had a calming effect on her, but not so much for Naylor, who is adjusting to all the sudden attention. "It must be very strange for him," Scarlett smiled. "It's totally bizarre... but he's really remarkably good about it."

Eight and a Half Singer Dave Hamelin on Moving From 'Utopian' Montreal to Toronto, the 'Capital of Uncool'

Dave Hamelin

Eight and a Half is an indie-rock supergroup made up of former members of the Stills, Dave Hamelin and Liam O'Neil, and Broken Social Scene drummer Justin Peroff. As Peroff is based in Toronto, the ex-Stills guys decided to relocate from Montreal to the Big Smoke. But, as Hamelin's artist blog below makes clear, it was not an easy decision, especially given his sorta-separatist upbringing. Alors, allons-y!

Thirty-one years ago, I was born at Montreal's General Hospital, I took my first breath of fresh air on the beautiful, winding and luxurious Pine Avenue which sits somewhere near the top of the tiny mountain that my native city was built on. I grew up in a bilingual household and as a result, much to my dismay, was thrust into the French Catholic school system from kindergarten all the way to the grade eight. Did I want to learn French? No. Did I want all my best friends to be Yannicks and Guillames? No. But I didn't have a choice really. My parents wanted me to be at least half French-Canadian as my dad is a true Pepper.

PROMETHEUS Running Time Revealed & New Image of Charlize Theron

CLICK IMAGE TO ENLARGE A member of PrometheusForum.net was going through the French press conference for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, and found a nice little nugget. During the event it was revealed that the run-time will be 1 hour and 59 minutes, and there will also be an extended cut with an additional 17 minutes of footage. Wow! So, we'll have multiple cuts for the film. I wonder if this means the shorter version is for a PG-13 rating while the extended version is for an R rating? We know Ridley Scott has been very outspoken about trying to get a PG-13 rating for the film, believing that his big budget film will have a harder time being profitable if it is rated R. By the way the run time comments at the press conference are also verified on this French website, www.silence-action.com. Please upvote for exposure. No karma is gained from this.

There are new guidelines on the right of your screen.

To expand on them, here they are in full text:

  • If you are making a submission about a specific movie or actor, name them in your title!! That means no submissions with titles like "This movie!" Submissions like this may be deleted.

  • Try to avoid flame wars over popular movies: we've all had the "cult classic is overrated" argument. Similarly, please realize that most people have seen the best movies; e.g. if this is your first time watching Star Wars, don't post "Has anyone seen this amazing sci-fi movie?"

  • Keep the website's name out of the title of the submission (e.g. "XYZ movie review - MovieJunky900.blogspot.com")

  • Don't editorialize the submission title if you're reviewing a movie (e.g. "Saw the XYZ Movie screening! The ending sucks!")

  • If there's a more appropriate subreddit for your submission, it may be removed. (r/Ijustwatched, r/dvdcollection, r/funny, r/celebs, r/todayilearned, r/wearethefilmmakers)

  • Memes & punchline jokes are subject to removal.

  • Do not advertise, promote, post or comment about illegal filesharing of movies or any other media here. This includes youtube links to full movies. If you see any posts like this, please hit the report button, and message the mods.

  • Moderators may remove your posts at their discretion, despite the popularity of the post.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have, and many thanks to you contributors!

P.S. - If your submission says [FIXED] in its title, it's getting deleted.

Metronomy Expect to See Celebrities at Coachella, Jealous of N.E.R.D.

Posted: 12 Apr 2012 03:00 AM PDT

Phil Sharp

There have been lots of memorable gigs for Metronomy, so it's hard for the band's founder and singer Joseph Mount and his cousin, main man behind the keyboards, Oscar Cash, to pick one favourite from the last year. The four-piece band (along with bassist bassist Gbenga Adelekan and drummer Anna Prior) have been on the road since December 2010 and will be on the road in North America for another month opening for Coldplay starting on April 17 for over a dozen dates before heading back to Europe for more gigs in June.

Mount and Cash sat down with Spinner for a chat days before the first of their two massive festival gigs (April 15 and 22) at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival in California.

What are your hopes for the upcoming Coachella gig?

Cash: I hope it's really good because everyone keeps saying it is. We've never done a festival in California. So I'm interested to see what that's like.

Mount: I'm expecting to see celebrities and if I don't I'm going to be very disappointed.
