Jason Segel is 'Happy' to Be Dating Michelle Williams

Posted: 17 Apr 2012 10:59 AM PDT

"The Five-Year Engagement" stars Jason Segel and Emily Blunt sat down with "Extra" special correspondent Michael Yo, to chat about their romantic comedy -- and about Segel's real-life romance with actress Michelle Williams.

Segel coyly told Yo, "I think we would just very much like to be happy. That's all I'm going to say about it."

Blunt chirped, "He's a man-boy! He used to be a boy-boy and now he's a man-boy." Jason added, "I think I might even be becoming a man-man... potentially!"

In "The Five-Year Engagement," the two friends play a couple that hits a number of snags on their way to the altar. Segel co-wrote the film with Blunt in mind.

He explained, "You want it to feel organic and you want it to feel like you're actually friends on screen. Emily was my friend and she's like the best actress in the world."

Yo pointed out that Segel says the same of all his co-stars, including his last one in "The Muppets." Jason defended himself. "Miss Piggy? I meant it." Emily jumped in, "He has to say that about her because she's a diva."

"The Five-Year Engagement" heads down the aisle April 27.

James Cameron Wants Terminator 5 to Focus on the T-800

Posted: 17 Apr 2012 10:00 AM PDT

James Cameron consulted with Arnold Schwarzenegger on Terminator 5

The status of Terminator 5 is still uncertain, after director Justin Lin backed out of the sequel back in September. Arnold Schwarzenegger is still believed to be attached as the Terminator, and director James Cameron recently revealed he consulted with the actor about this new sequel, saying that it needs to revolve around the T-800 character.

"I was talking to him back in fall about a new Terminator film and quietly advising on that, I suppose you could say. I was trying to be as encouraging as possible. Frankly, at that time, I thought it needed to be more about him. I told him he should not do it until it's focused on his character or he shouldn't do it. I think there are some great stories that can be told about that character that haven't even been thought of yet."

Back in January, producer/financier Megan Ellison confirmed the sequel will be R-rated, "as God and James Cameron intended." There is still no screenwriter attached, and they haven't found a replacement for Justin Lin yet, so it isn't clear when this project will get off the ground.

Terminator 5 is in development and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Amazing Spider-Man Is Funny and Whimsical Says Director Marc Webb

The Amazing Spider-Man is funny and whimsical says director Marc Webb

The Amazing Spider-Man is certainly shaping up to be one of the most highly-anticipated movies this summer, with director Marc Webb taking us back to the webbed wonder's high school roots. The filmmaker recently spoke about the challenge of balancing humor, emotion, and the whimsical nature of this reboot.

"To create something that's funny and whimsical, but also has real emotional stakes. That's the real tricky part is to make it all feel grounded even though he is doing something, even though he's swinging through the streets and he can do things that no other human can do. But still give him a hard time when he's relating to his aunt or his girlfriend, and all those dumb little things that we all have to deal with when you don't have that mask on. I think reconciling those two universes was tricky, but I think that people really react to it."

He also talked about bringing together Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

"Yeah, we screen tested them together, and she's very funny and really quick and snappy. I remember the first time we screen tested them, I don't think they'd met before, really, and he took a minute for him to get back up to speed with her because she was so funny. And then they really brought out really great parts of the other's performance. Of course, it was there, and that's why we cast that dynamic. It was really great to watch it on screen."

The director also spoke about the importance of bringing the story back to high school.

"There's an adolescent quality to a lot of the "Spider-Man" [comics] that I liked, that is really important in terms of the DNA of the character. He's like an imperfect guy. You know what I'm mean? He is a kid, and he's always kind of making mistakes, and he is not so sure about himself all the time. I felt like the authentic place to start that was in high school. And I think there's something about the way you feel about the world at that age that makes things much more raw, and I thought that was really fun to explore more cinematically."

The Amazing Spider-Man comes to theaters July 3rd, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Irrfan Khan, C. Thomas Howell. The film is directed by Marc Webb.

TASM: Marc Webb Explain's SPIDER-MAN's Attitude In The Car Thief Clip

Posted: 17 Apr 2012 04:12 AM PDT

There have been many people questioning Spider-Man's attitude in the car thief clip. Some feel he is being too mean spirited, whilst others believe this is Spidey's trademark personality. Marc Webb explains the scene to MTV, here is what he had to say: MTV: Judging from trailers and the few scenes that have been released online, the takeaway for me is that this is a grittier "Spider-Man" movie, a bit more dangerous than some of the more cartoony takes we've seen previously. But the prankster side is still in place too. There's a clip online of Peter really toying with a guy as he's webbing him up, so the comedy is definitely there. How did you find the right mix of comedy and darkness in this movie? Webb: I wouldn't say we were ever after pursuing darkness. We just wanted to keep things real. I think it comes down to everything having

Heroes: The Course of Comics to Movies Part 2: Thor

Prologue: For those of you just joining in, I hope you've taken time to read my last article located HERE! It took a dive into Iron Man's origins from the days of his Vietnam beginnings and how the movie did just right in blending his origins (before the Extremis story-line) and where the movie took its own direction. A fellow Twitter-er had wanted me to do an article on the original Green Lantern, Alan Scott, but I'm very unfamiliar with that subject. So before I did that, I want to go into Thor's origins. In the beginning, there was a time where comics and books were the only media that took your imagination to other realms. Over time, TV, movies, and even video games allowed our imaginations to stretch out and continue. Throughout that time, characters come and go, heroes would
