Nudity! Boozing! 8 Things To Expect from Bravo's Kathy Posted: 19 Apr 2012 10:57 AM PDT Kathy Griffin's Emmy winning Bravo reality series My Life on the D-List ended in 2009, but the unapologetic red-headed comedian is back —this time with a self-titled talk show. Griffin promises that Kathy, a weekly series that premieres Thursday at 10/9c, will stay true to her no-holds-barred style, which means drinking on set will be frequent, and clothing will be optional. The Tribeca Film Festival Is Back And Center Stage Posted: 19 Apr 2012 11:11 AM PDT Every year at the start of the Tribeca Film Festival I write some really nice piece about how Tribeca's my favorite time of year, how it's the best month out of all the months. I mean, come on, I g... Read More > |
Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson Confirmed for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Posted: 19 Apr 2012 10:15 AM PDT Last week, we reported that the long-awaited sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will finally start shooting this summer, after director Robert Rodriguez wraps on another sequel, Machete Kills. Today, the filmmaker confirmed that Sin City stars Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson will be back for the sequel. Here's what the filmmaker had to say. "We still have to cast. I'm shooting Machete Kills next month, and we go right into Sin City. It might overlap, but we haven't done any casting yet, except for the people who we know are already in it and returning. A Dame to Kill For, all those people come back. I just had lunch with Mickey [Rourke] this weekend. He's all excited to come back, but he's probably the first one. I saw Rosario [Dawson] too. I ran into her for something else, and she's pumped. They've always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun." It has been long rumored that Angelina Jolie may play the title role, although the director revealed he hasn't reached out to her yet. "I haven't even gotten to meet with her yet about it or discuss with Frank (Miller) about who we would want to go with or talk to first. That's a fun process, but that probably won't happen in the next month." The director was also asked if he plans on reinventing the style for this sequel, since a slew of movies pulled from the original Sin City's look. "I probably thought that back then, but now, even people did green screen stuff, Sin City is very unique. It's not just the visuals. It's the story and how it's told and Frank's storytelling that works when you're looking at it in a book or in a film. It works in any way, shape or form. He's just a great writer and visualist and storyteller with pictures in a way that's different than what anyone else can think of. It's so unique, and I think that's why people keep asking for another Sin City in particular. In terms of just visuals and effects, yeah, it will evolve from the original, for sure." clickHere to read the full interview with Robert Rodriguez for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Posted: 19 Apr 2012 10:21 AM PDT The working title was The Heirhunter. It was shot in and around Dublin in 1993. The best-known actor was Emma Samms (of Dynasty fame). My role was as her younger brother and I had a few lines in a couple of scenes. I heard at some stage (not sure where) that it had gone straight to DVD and only in Asia. I would so love to get hold of a copy of it. (Maybe it exists on a torrent somewhere - I'm not well versed in such things.) [link] [comment] |

Hugh Jackman's THE WOLVERINE To Film In Australia Posted: 19 Apr 2012 10:07 AM PDT Hugh Jackman won't be homesick when filming for The Wolverine begins as Australia has secured a deal to have part of the movie filmed in Sydney. The deal is said to worth up to $80 million to the local economy, and will generate over 2000 jobs. "The Wolverine is expected to generate more than $80 million in production expenditure in NSW and create more than 720 jobs for NSW-based cast and crew, along with opportunities for 1200 extras," said Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner. "It is a testament to our screen industry that Hugh Jackman and his team have chosen to come back to Australia after such a positive experience making the X-Men Origins." Although some production work is scheduled for the US, another $10 million worth of post-production work will be done here, especially visual effects. Both state and federal government incentives were provided to bring the film to Sydney. Plot - Logan beginning |
