The Baytown Disco Trailer

Posted: 18 Apr 2012 02:38 AM PDT

The first trailer for Barry Battles's The Baytown Disco has debuted. A release date hasn't been set yet, but you can take a look at the first footage from this comedy starring Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria.

The Baytown Disco Trailer

The rousing rebel spirit of a family of Southern thugs takes off at breakneck speed in The Baytown Disco - a wickedly playful, high-velocity action-comedy in which three infamously ruthless Alabama brothers find themselves on the wrong side of crooked cops, relentless Feds, mad mobsters, road pirates, tomahawk-wielding bikers, tricky femme fatales and an unforgettable cast of characters as colorful as they are lethal when they finally try to do a single good deed.

Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton and Golden Globe winner Eva Longoria headline this wildly explosive, yet ultimately moving, tale of honor breaking out among thieves with madcap results. It all starts when the fetching Celeste (Longoria) has a falling out with her nefarious ex-husband Carlos (Thornton) who kidnaps her beloved son, Rob (Thomas Sangster). Knowing her ex can be a maniacal psychopath, not to mention a bit trigger-happy, she turns for help to the most bad-ass, lawless hit-man trio in Alabama: the Oodie Brothers.

Ringleader Brick (Clayne Crawford, 24, The Glades), mute wrestling phenom Lincoln (Daniel Cudmore, The Twilight Saga), and the baby of the brothers, the kick-ass G.I. McQueen (Travis Fimmel, The Beast) are known for being mean as a bag of rattlesnakes -and measly kidnap rescues are not on their menu of services. But when Brick is unexpectedly moved by Celeste's plight, what he thinks is going to be an easy smash-and-grab job turns out to be the most hair-raising and hilariously intense adventure of his and his brothers' harrowing careers.

Suddenly the Oodies have their hometown Sheriff (Andre Braugher, Men of a Certain Age, Salt), in a tangle; a pesky DEA Agent (Paul Wesley, The Vampire Diaries) on their trail, and Carlos and his heinous assortment of henchman out for their hides. With no one quite who or what they seem, they are headed for a showdown - and a shot at redemption - they never saw coming.

The Baytown Disco comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Paul Wesley, Serinda Swan, Billy Bob Thornton, Eva Longoria, Thomas Sangster, Natalie Martinez, Michael Rapaport, Zoe Bell. The film is directed by Barry Battles.

Samuel L. Jackson Describes What A S.H.I.E.L.D. Movie Could Look Like

Get More: Movie Trailers, Movies Blog "Really?" he questioned. "Just handling it?", said Jackson in response to the notion that a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie would only be about his character, Nick Fury. "Natasha is part of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hawkeye is part of S.H.I.E.L.D., and I couldn't do a S.H.I.E.L.D. movie without those two people. They're essential elements of what's there," Jackson stated. "Now we know Agent [Maria] Hill is an essential element of S.H.I.E.L.D. so she would have to be there. And I'm still not sure if she's the eyes and ears of the council hanging around inside their place and telling people, 'We've got these superheroes over here!' She wants my job," he said jokingly. "I can tell. She's ambitious." "I don't know how much of S.H.I.E.L.D. [Marvel] want[s] to expose...I mean, we're not superheroes. We're more of a shadow world. Val Kilmer Reflects On BATMAN FOREVER

Posted: 18 Apr 2012 09:56 AM PDT

When most people talk about the movie Batman Forever it is met with more jeers than it is cheers. Val Kilmer was at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo where he talked about the film. "The cast was pretty amazing, and we spent a lot of time hanging out," Kilmer said. Jim Carey is who he hung out with the most because he had just lost his father, and Kilmer said he could relate having lost his father just before he filmed Tombstone. One of the more interesting bits from Kilmer was his take on the Batsuit he had to wear. He said that it took him an hour to get into and that he could not do it by himself. "You can't hear because there are really no earholes in it. Also you can't turn your head and you can't go to the bathroom by yourself. Plus, you fall over quite

Prince Prompts Pippa, Paris Peer Pleads Pardon

Posted: 18 Apr 2012 10:17 AM PDT

Royal sister-in-law Pippa Middleton received some sage advice from ally Prince Harry after the whole gun-waving incident in Paris, while the French dude who threw the offending party gives an explanation.

pippa-harry.jpg

A palace insider told Chicago Sun-Times that Prince Harry, who has had his fair share of embarrassing public moments, was the first royal to rush to Pippa's aid, calling up his friend and telling her not to worry too much.

Harry also suggested she avoid public events for a while, but to be photographed at charity-oriented events where she'll be seen doing "good works," said the source.

The younger Middleton is not expected to face any criminal charges related to the incident in which a male companion waved a toy gun while sitting next to Pippa in a convertible.

French aristocrat Arthur de Soultrait, who hosted the birthday bash Pippa attended, has issued an apology to her and an explanation for the gunplay that was jokingly pointed at paparazzi.

"Last Saturday," said de Soultrait's statement, which was released in Paris Wednesday afternoon, "I was in a car with Philippa Middleton, and we were being followed by paparazzi.

"She had been subject to constant and dangerous harassment by paparazzi throughout her time in Paris. The car was being driven by a friend of mine, whom Pippa had only met a few hours before. As a joke, my friend [French criminal lawyer Romain Rabillard ] brandished a toy pistol in their direction.

"Obviously Philippa had no idea that he was going to do that and told him to stop immediately. She did not find it funny. I regret enormously that this incident happened, and especially that Pippa has been subject to the subsequent attention through no fault of her own. I have apologized to her for this."

The entire mess has reportedly upset Queen Elizabeth II, along with Pippa's sister, Kate, who has been unhappy her sister has seemed to be taking undue advantage of her big royal connections.

TV networks/show producers need to embrace different forms of distribution!

Posted: 18 Apr 2012 09:28 AM PDT

I live in Australia and we get shows about 2 months after they are aired in the US. If we miss a show there is no real legal way for us to catch up and we cannot stream shows from the US sites! I'm not sure if this is a problem in other countries but why don't the creators of the show/TV networks have the shows streamed online! I would be willing to pay a small fee/watch ads if i got it in a timely fashion. Surely this is the future people and the technology should be embraced! What does everyone think?

'Gay Cinema' classification....demeaning to great filmmakers?

Posted: 18 Apr 2012 09:25 AM PDT

I am a gay man and film/media teacher. I recently watched the great british film 'Weekend' by Andrew Haigh. One of the most beautifully filmed, incredibly well written and naturally acted pieces of cinema I have ever seen but yet this film, as it is about the love of two men has been condemned to the 'gay cinema' section of every shop (Not that there are many DVD shops with a specific Gay and Lesbian section). This frustrates me so much as it means that because it is a same sex relationship, it is not good enough to be bundled in the rest of the mainstream cinema. Are we still so narrow minded as a society? Would the general public still be horrified to see a film about a same sex relationship considering how much of it is on our televisions in mainstream soap operas and dramas.

What are peoples views on this? Am i overreacting or is this something that seriously needs to change.
