Hollywood legend Doris Day will release a new album of original material this fall called 'My Heart.' The record will be the 'Pillow Talk' actress' first release in 17 years, and will include four new compositions, three rock reworks and several classic Day standards.

The 87-year-old singer worked with Beach Boys songwriter Bruce Johnston to lay down the brand-new tracks to wax. "These songs all mean so much to me," Day told Broadway World back in 2010. "They bring back happy memories of my friends who appeared on TV with me, my animal friends and most of all, my son Terry."

Paul Greengrass Eyes Maresk Alabama and Rush

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 10:20 AM PDT

Paul Greengrass may direct Maresk Alabama or Rush as his next project

We reported back in April that director Paul Greengrass' project Memphis was being delayed for at least a year. The filmmaker has been seeking new projects to fill the void in his schedule, and it seems two of the contenders are Maresk Alabama and Rush.

Back in April, we first reported on Maresk Alabama, which was untitled at the time, and centers on Captain Richard Phillips, who was captured by Somali pirates while helming the Maresk Alabama in 2009. Tom Hanks is attached to star and Billy Ray is adapting Richard Phillips' book, A Captain's Duty. Sony plans to shoot Maresk Alabama as early as this fall, after Tom Hanks wraps production on Cloud Atlas.

Rush comes from screenwriter Peter Morgan and is based on the true story of Formula One race car driver Niki Lauda, who nearly died during the 1976 season. Niki Lauda's car caught on fire during an August 1, 1976 race, which caused the driver to lose his right ear and lapse into a coma. The story will also follow the heated rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt.

It is said there is also a third movie that Paul Greengrass is considering, although it isn't known what that project may be.

The Mighty Finds a Home at Paramount Pictures

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 09:44 AM PDT

The Mighty comic book will be adapted by Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures has acquired rights to the DC Comics property The Mighty for a new feature adaptation. A screenwriter hasn't been attached yet to adapt the comic book, which was created by Keith Champagne and Peter Tomasi. Here's a description of The Mighty below.

"The Mighty tells the story of Alpha-One, the world's most powerful super-being, who has always been a force for good, but Gabriel Cole, a cop who's life was saved by Alpha One as a child, has uncovered his hero's dark plan that will put them on a collision course of an ordinary man versus a super-man."

While most DC Comics titles land at Warner Bros., creators Keith Champagne and Peter Tomasi control the rights to their series and opted for Paramount.

No production schedule has been determined yet for The Mighty. Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, and J.C. Spink are attached as producers.

Lily Allen Sparks War of Words With 'Bitter Old Troll' Columnist

Lily Allen has gone back on a promise to cut down on her Twitter usage by replying savagely to an attack by Julie Burchill, a former NME writer. Now the pair are involved in a war of words, which is probably the 84th such go-round for Allen (we've lost count).

Burchill started the tiff in a Sun article about Cheryl Cole, in which she wrote "I adore the way she spat back at that over-privileged cry-baby Lily Allen when the public-school tool took a poke at her way back in the day." She's referring to a 2007 incident when Cole called Allen a "chick with a d---," after Allen criticized her looks.

That brings us to Monday, May 30, when Allen took to Twitter to write "Julie Birchill, you are an ignorant and bitter old troll, but I guess you know that already."
