Posted: 22 Jun 2011 11:15 AM PDT As I stated in the original POLL article, having met people on this site of all nationalities and age groups, I grew curious as to what ages the people frequenting CBM.com actually were. Evidently, many of you were just as curious since almost 1,900 people took part in the survey. Although it may come as no surprise that the majority of users were between the ages of 16 and 30 years old, it was somewhat of a surprise that there are many users of all ages frequenting CBM.com. It was also more than a little surprising that "Older than Gusto" was not the least represented age group on the list. I give you the results... CONFIRMED: No Major Marvel Studios Hall H Appearance At San Diego Comic Con This Year! Posted: 22 Jun 2011 11:03 AM PDT It was already rumoured that Marvel Studios (along with several other major studios) would be scaling back their presence at the annual event due to the expense and lack of benefits their appearance generates. Now, we have confirmation that Marvel Studios definitely don't have anything major planned for SDCC '11, meaning we can pretty much rule out seeing The Avengers once again assemble on stage in Hall H! Here is an excerpt from the report over at Hero Complex. Don't expect the Avengers to reassemble in Hall H at Comic-Con International in July. The official word from Marvel Studios is that their team will sit out the Hollywood previews in the 6,000-seat hall, where fans, bloggers and journalists from around the world come to see filmmakers and stars introduce and promote their upcoming spectacle movies. The leadership at Marvel Studios is also quick to point out that sitting out Hall H is not synonymous

Films with simple conflicts, big impact Posted: 22 Jun 2011 10:41 AM PDT I have a friend who thinks every great movie conflict must more or less feature the ring being taken to Mordor. I was trying to convince him that there are plenty of great movies where the story built to a climax/event so simple, yet was still compelling and gratifying. Naturally I blanked on any examples. I may have been drinking. So I ask you, r/movies, what films featured an extremely simple premise/plot/conflict that delivered a big impact on you as a viewer? Powers Adds Jason Patrick Posted: 22 Jun 2011 10:28 AM PDT Actor Jason Patric has signed on to portray the male lead in the FX pilot Powers. The news comes just two days after our report that Lucy Punch is set for the female lead. Powers is set in a world where people with super powers are not at all out of the ordinary. The show centers on detectives Christian Walker (Jason Patric) and Deena Pilgrim (Lucy Punch), who solve crimes committed by those with special abilities, in a special homicide division known as Powers. Charles H. Eglee wrote the pilot script, which is based on the graphic novel created by Brian Bendis and Michael Avon. Michael Dinner will direct the pilot episode and executive produce alongside Charles H. Eglee, Brian Bendis, and David Engel. Production on the pilot is slated to begin sometime this summer, on location in Chicago. If the project gets picked up to series, it will mark the first regular TV role for Jason Patric.

Hilton revealed the scoop to George Lopez on Tuesday's "Lopez Tonight." "We're not together anymore," Hilton told Lopez. "I love him, and we remain really good friends... I just feel like the relationship ran its course." Lopez played a dramatic clip from Hilton's reality show, "The World According to Paris," in which she and Waits were involved in a heated argument at a club. Cy calmly told his soon-to-be-ex, "Get the f*** away from me. Get the f*** out of here before I ask security to throw you out of here."
