Deadline is reporting that it is now likely that Noah, the upcoming adaptation of the classic Bible story by Darren Aronofsky, which will also be a graphic novel- will land at Paramount instead of bidding opponent 20th Century Fox. Below are the details... Paramount is moving closer to signing on for Noah, the big-ticket re-telling of the Noah's Ark story that will be the next film from Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky. Burton Cummings to Be Inducted Into Canada's Walk of Fame

Canada's Walk of Fame has over 130 inductees but organizers have yet to spice things up. For example, the musical honorees' squares located along both sides of Toronto's King Street (and running south along Simcoe Street) could be equipped with sensors, resulting in a short song snippet when walking on a certain star.

You could hear Shania Twain sing "Whose star have your boots been under?" How about Alanis Morissette belt out 'Walk Away' or maybe Neil Young serve up a portion of 'Devil's Sidewalk' from his 'Greendale' album? Or, in the case of the newest inductee, "Stand tall, don't you fall..."

Burton Cummings -- best known for his work in the legendary rock troupe the Guess Who -- was announced today (June 28) as one of eight "Canadian icons" to join Canada's Walk of Fame.

Foster the People Frontman Has Hand in 'Spider-Man' Musical Song With U2

There is a longstanding tradition of respected rock acts writing great pop songs. Even the greatest rock writing duos of all time, the Beatles' John Lennon and Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, penned pop masterpieces for others -- Peter and Gordon's 'World Without Love' and Marianne Faithfull's 'As Tears Go By,' respectively -- as their fledgling musical careers were blossoming.

As the author of one of the year's catchiest tunes, 'Pumped Up Kicks,' Mark Foster, frontman for indie rock group Foster the People, has been hailed as the inheritor to MGMT's intelligent pop crown. So it's only logical that, when U2's Bono and the Edge were seeking a verse writer for one of the songs in their 'Spider-Man' musical, 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,' the powers that be called upon Foster's penchant for pop hooks to help augment their soaring chorus.

Dave Stewart Dishes on 'Blackbird Diaries' and Drinking Margaritas With Bob Dylan

Posted: 28 Jun 2011 01:30 PM PDT

Kristin Burns

In May 2010, acclaimed producer, songwriter and former Eurythmic Dave Stewart purchased a guitar that once belonged to an obscure country singer named Red River Dave. Stewart felt a strange connection with the instrument and knew instantly his then-upcoming trip to Nashville would yield something special. Sure enough, he wound up befriending Music City luminaries John and Martina McBride, at whose studio he recorded 'The Blackbird Diaries,' due out Aug 23.

The album is Stewart's first in 13 years, but it's not like he's been slacking off. In the last couple of years, he's produced records by Stevie Nicks and Joss Stone, penned songs for a musical based on the film 'Ghost,' and formed the supergroup SuperHeavy with Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Stone and film composer AR Rahman. In a phone interview with Spinner, Stewart discussed jamming with Jagger, writing songs with Bob Dylan and why he wanted to make a musical about a Patrick Swayze movie.

Prior to 'Blackbird Diaries,' you hadn't made a solo record in 13 years. Was it just the result of you doing so many other projects, or had you lost interest in being a solo artist?

I never considered myself a solo artist up until recently. I always just did the odd record. When I made [1995's] 'Greetings from the Gutter,' I was experimenting with the [cover] artwork from Damien Hirst, and I was at Jimi Hendrix's studio [Electric Lady] in New York. It was a lot of artists -- Bootsy Collins playing bass -- like a real fusion. But I didn't see myself like I was going to have a solo career. I was really into taking photographs and doing film music. It was just something I did, whereas this particular album, it's very strange how it came about. It was almost like the world of destiny or the universe telling me, "Hey, Dave, you are a solo artist," and sending me to Nashville with a guitar I bought on Denmark Street in London. It led into this weird odyssey.

Somehow I ended up finding myself, and it was almost like I went back again to when I was 15 or 16, when I used to play in clubs and sing blues songs or Dylan songs.
