Yes we know you like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Moon, Kick-Ass, In Bruges, and the first 2/3 of Sunshine

Posted: 18 Jun 2011 07:38 AM PDT

These movies keep coming up as if they're underappreciated gems, and perhaps they are among the general public, but in /r/movies they're practically canon at this point and promoting them comes close to violating the second posting guideline on the right. What to do? That's not rhetorical. People definitely should know about them, but does that mean we suffer through these "reposts" until everyone and their mom has seen them?

What are the best 'worst' movies?

Posted: 18 Jun 2011 08:10 AM PDT

I recently had the pleasure of watching 'Masters of the Universe'. Dolph Lundgren's incredibly wooden performance made the terrible script hilarious. Any suggestions for other films that are so incredibly bad they are good?

First Reaction To 15 Minutes Of Footage From The Avengers

Posted: 18 Jun 2011 08:39 AM PDT

I have been fortunate enough to have a chat with someone who was VERY fortunate enough to catch 15 minutes of footage from Marvel's The Avengers. Now I wish I could tell you guys all that I was told but contracts were signed, people could get into trouble, all the usual red tape. But here is what I can tell you.. The footage left my friend's jaw on the floor. He/she was shown "animation of un shot battle scenes and saw footage of The Avengers together. no special effects yet." I was told what was shown was pretty spectacular. And I can say just one more thing, The Hulk will play a "key role" in these screened battle scenes. And that's pretty much it I'm afraid. Toldja it wasn't much. But, I am assured that those privy to the footage were all very impressed indeed. If I manage to come by any

Joe Johnston Describes The Use Of The Shield In Captain America: The First Avenger!

Posted: 18 Jun 2011 08:08 AM PDT

Talking to Hero Complex, the director of the highly anticipated movie from Marvel Studios described just how much we see Captain America throw his shield, the uses he finds for it and making sure it's wielded in a suitably exciting and epic manner by the iconic superhero. We've already seen Cap using his shield as a weapon in the trailer and recently released TV spots (one such moment can be seen in the fantastic gif by DCMarvelFreshman above) but it's good to hear that Johnston and Marvel put plenty of thought into exactly how and why it's such an important part of the character. "The whole thing about throwing the shield was given a lot of thought. And you know he just doesn't do it a lot in the movie. I'd say maybe four of five times? But when he does, it's a big deal; he really saves the day." "He's not slinging

Rita Wilson has been named the Editor-at-Large for Huff/Post 40, a new site launching in August covering the baby boomer generation.

"We are thrilled that Rita is joining us," Arianna Huffington, founder of Huffington Post, said in a statement. "Calling the site 'Huff/Post 40' was her idea. Her belief that it's never too late to follow your dreams makes her the perfect godmother for Huff/Post 40 as it takes shape."
