Jack Ryan First Look Photo with Kevin Costner as William Harper Posted: 01 Sep 2012 10:46 AM PDT Yesterday, Paramount Pictures released a first look photo of Chris Pine as Jack Ryan, which was met with yawns of boredom and drew comparisons to the last time Pine was on a motorcycle, for the opening moments of his first franchise reboot, Star Trek. Now, Paramount has decided to offer us a first look at Kevin Costner, who co-stars as William Harper, a loyal patriot who recruits and mentors Jack Ryan to become the CIA operative we know and love from past movies. Here is the photo, which finds Harper and Ryan on a rooftop exiting a helicopter. Happy Labor Day weekend! We hope you find this picture to be more exiting than the last one. Jack Ryan comes to theaters December 25th, 2013 and stars Chris Pine, Kenneth Branagh, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh. |

Explain it like I'm 5: What is Overacting? Please link examples w/ explanations! Posted: 01 Sep 2012 10:04 AM PDT I often hear the term "overacting" in describing some actors' work. It is used by reviewers, critics, and movie-goers alike. I don't really think I understand what is meant by it. Someone once said to me "Shatner is a great example of overacting." However, they never explained WHY he was considered to be doing so... and I feel dumb for not understanding. PLEASE HELP A GUY OUT, REDDIT!! [link] [4 comments] |

We've all heard the cons of the prequel Star Wars Trilogy. What are some pros? Posted: 01 Sep 2012 01:45 AM PDT I personally liked the scene in Revenge of the Sith where the Chancellor addresses the Senate and proclaims the new Galactic Empire, and Padme says "So this is how liberty dies: with thunderous applause." Just an excellent line in the movie. Also, John Williams' score when Anakin and Obi-Wan are dueling. But that goes without saying. [link] [245 comments] |

Christopher Walken in Apocalypse Now? Posted: 01 Sep 2012 08:34 AM PDT My friend and I have been wondering about this for a while. To my knowledge, he is not listed in the credits as all. In the "Do Lung Bridge" scene, there is a soldier waiting for Willard and he identifies himself as Lt. Carlson. Then he says that line, "You're in the asshole of the world". HELP! I need some quality post-breakup movies! Posted: 01 Sep 2012 09:06 AM PDT I just got dumped and I'm about to start my senior year of college. I feel helpless, lonely, and unable to tackle this year on my own, without the man I love. What are some movies that will help me wallow in my misery, and others that will lift me out of the slump [link] [17 comments] |
Reddit, this Braveheart line has been bothering me for YEARS Posted: 01 Sep 2012 01:22 AM PDT Braveheart is my dad's favorite movie; he's seen it at least 30 times. He used to be able to recite the lines from any scene of the movie on request. So, naturally, as his kid, I too have seen it many, many times. However, neither of us have EVER been able to understand the last line of William Wallace's speech. It's the line at 2:12: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLrrBs8JBQo&t=2m12s Can someone please settle this for us, once and for all? [link] [18 comments] |
