If you could have any film director direct a day in your life, who would it be?

Posted: 18 Sep 2012 10:32 AM PDT

You get to choose one film director to direct one day in your life. Here are the rules:

-The director will direct your day stylistically, i.e. visuals, dialog, music, events/encounters, things of this nature. It is as if your day is being seen through that filmmakers eyes.

-Style does not translate to events commonly found in that directors movie (i.e. if Michael Bay directed your day, you would not have everything blowing up around you all of the time, rather, the every day events would take place in a over-the-top manner.)

-But their style can effect things such as time (i.e. Zack Snyder turning you making coffee into a super slo-mo event.)

-Provide the positive, and negative aspects of having that director dictating your day based off their stylistic tendencies.

Here is my pick (it is a pretty obvious one too):

I'd go with Quentin Tarantino.

Positive: Running into people throughout the day, and having witty, snappy dialog encounters would be a blast. I work in a grocery store as a cashier part time, so these types of encounters would be great to be seen through the lens of QT. Also, the normally boring, played out music in the store would be changed to kick-ass, lo-fi oldies music.

One negative side effect potentially: having your day happen out of chronological order would be a mind-trip.

Favorite TV movie?

Mine is The Librarian. It is sort of like the TV show Warehouse 13 (which came after the original Librarian) but with far more Indiana Jones. Very likeable happy-go-lucky protagonist, portrayed by Noah Wyle though he uses his brain more often than Indi (doesn't really have brawn).

James Gunn set to re-write and direct Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that James Gunn will re-write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Studios. The man is known for directing Slither and Super, as well as writing 2004's Dawn Of The Dead and both Scooby Doo theatrical features. He is also known for starting his career at the infamous Troma production company, and made his first foray into the world of superheroes with The Specials.

Here is James Gunn's official statement on Guardians of the Galaxy.

"For a month or so there's been a lot of Internet speculation about my involvement with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Until now I haven't said anything, because I'm trying to be less expulsive about this project than I am about the rest of my life. But last night I got the go-ahead from Kevin Feige to let you all know that, yes, indeed, I am rewriting and directing Guardians of the Galaxy. As a lifelong lover of Marvel comics, space epics, AND raccoons, this is the movie I've been waiting to make since I was nine years old. Kevin Feige, Joss Whedon, and all the folks at Marvel have been amazing collaborators so far, and we're committed to bringing you something majestic, beautiful, and unique. I am incredibly excited. I am also incredibly grateful to the fans and the press for all their words of encouragement and support regarding my involvement with this project since the news first leaked. Thanks - you have, honestly, touched and overwhelmed me. And that's it for now. Other than the occasional photos of my dog and cat here on Facebook, I'll talk to you again in August 2014 when Guardians of the Galaxy is released!

Guardians of the Galaxy comes to theaters August 1st, 2014. The film is directed by James Gunn.

James Gunn Finally Confirmed To Direct & Rewrite Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

Posted: 18 Sep 2012 10:25 AM PDT

Exactly one month ago, Hollywood trades revealed that Marvel Studios had chosen Super director James Gunn to helm their big risky "space epic," Guardians of the Galaxy. And while the deal was then in an early phase, Marvel's The Avengers director and Gunn's good friend, Joss Whedon recently confirmed it had prospered. And now, making use of his official Facebook account, James Gunn has penned a lengthy statement confirming himself as director of the interstellar superhero team-up. In addition, he also confirms that he's rewriting the script that was originally by Nicole Periman before Christopher McCoy did a rewrite also. The statement reads: "For a month or so there's been a lot of Internet speculation about my involvement with Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Until now I haven't said anything, because I'm trying to be less expulsive about this project than I am about the rest of my life. But last

Fox Home Entertainment launches Digital HD today with Prometheus

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment today announced the launch of Digital HD -- a new initiative that allows consumers to download or stream their favorite Fox movies on a variety of connected devices. Customized for today's digital lifestyles, more than 600 Fox films can now be enjoyed anywhere, anytime in amazing high-definition immediately in the U.S. from Amazon, CinemaNow, Google Play, iTunes, PlayStation, VUDU, Xbox Live and YouTube.

The epic sci-fi thriller Prometheus is also available today on Digital HD for less than $15, arriving three weeks before Blu-ray, DVD and video-on-demand (VOD).

Digital HD combines four key benefits into one offering with earlier access to new releases, attractive pricing, cloud storage and availability across multiple devices. Whether the plan involves watching Fox movies on connected HDTVs in your living room, or on your tablet or smartphone on the run, Digital HD offers up versatility and convenience.

"With almost 800 million broadband connected devices globally, and millions of people accessing entertainment on those devices, we feel the medium's time has come,'' said Mike Dunn

"Available in more than 50 countries, DIGITAL HD is a brand that will define the convenience and selection that digital ownership brings," added Mary Daily, President of Worldwide Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Today's launch will coincide with the most extensive all-digital media campaign to date for digital movies that will reach over 100 million active movie viewers across online retailer sites and through the No. 1 sports, music and gaming sites.

Prometheus on Digital HD is also Fox's first UltraViolet-enabled title. Additional Digital HD new releases this year include Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Ice Age: Continental Drift, The Watch and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.

Prometheus was released June 8th, 2012 and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Logan Marshall-Green, Sean Harris, Rafe Spall. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.
