Elastocitizens Use TIFF 'Picture Day' Buzz for Reunion/Potential Farewell Posted: 14 Sep 2012 02:05 PM PDT Filed under: News, Exclusive, Movies Snitch Pictures After a week of non-stop schmoozing, star-studded galas, interviews, open bars, and thought-provoking screening after screening, most people get pretty burnt out by the end of the Toronto International Film Festival, but for Steven McCarthy, star of one the fest's biggest buzz films, Picture Day, the best and most ass-shaking party is yet to come. To close the book on TIFF's Picture Day -- the critically acclaimed and sold out Canadian coming of age feature by writer and first time director Kate Melville -- McCarthy and his funk rock gogo dancing collective The ElastoCitizens, who also appear in the film, will be taking over Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on Saturday. They'll also be using the opportunity to celebrate the release of a brand new EP. McCarthy's a little worried that people might be too tired to make it out, but he believes it will be the perfect cap to all of the festivities, and a nice transition back into the more normal world of rock 'n' roll.

COMICS: 'Marvelman' Set To Finally Return To The Marvel Universe Next January? Six Directors Who Should Be Considered For The Next TRANSFORMERS Movie Posted: 14 Sep 2012 09:56 AM PDT After the success of Michael Bay's Transformers trilogy, Paramount Pictures will inevitably continue making films for some time. Bay confirmed that his next entry in the franchise (which bows June 27th, 2014) will certainly be his last, and even stated that Transformers 4 will set things up for the next director. Personally, I would prefer if Paramount completely rebooted the franchise. The Transformers movies have been very entertaining, but they're far from the best versions of the robots (too much focus on the humans, very poor attempts at humor, etc). I would love to see a prequel/reboot (in the vein of Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Star Trek and X-Men: First Class) which follows the War For Cybertron storyline. To successfully craft a Transformers movie, you need to make the characters likable and the visuals top notch. Below, I've listed six directors who I think can accomplish just that. Jon
