Duncan Jones And David Slade Eyed For The Wolverine?

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 10:51 AM PDT

While David Slade is confirmed to direct the Dardevil reboot for 20th Century Fox, there is still a possibility that director will switch that project for The Wolverine, since Darren Aronofsky left the project. There is a mention that studio is also looking for Duncan Jones (Moon), who recently directed Source Code. From Deadline: "He has been very hands on developing The Wolverine with screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie, and he himself drafted Darren Aronofsky, who exited earlier this month. Jackman and the studio are just getting started on finding a replacement. I've heard names like Duncan Jones, director of the well-reviewed Source Code, and David Slade, the Twilight Saga: Eclipse helmer who was in the mix before Aronofsky got hired." I think that Duncan Jones would be a good fit for this if not Aronofsky. But still, Slade could also do great things with it. I guess we will just have to wait and

POLL: Who's your favorite comic book martial artist?

Posted: 05 Apr 2011 08:17 PM PDT

Captain America Master Martial Artist / Strategist / Tactician: Steve Rogers was trained extensively in multiple forms of combat including martial arts. Thanks to the Super Soldier Serum, he was able skip the physical conditioning and flexibility training. Although a few of them have been identified, every discipline he was trained in is unknown and unclear. American Boxing, Judo, Aikido, and Jujutsu are the only revealed disciplines, but he has utilized various different techniques and methods from multiple others. Among these are various Gong fu (or Kung fu) such as Taijiquan, Wing Chun, various Shaolin arm methods which he incorporates for his shield, Chin na, and northern kicking methods, Capoeira, Muay Thai, Karate, Eskrima, and hand techniques used in Ninjutsu. While there are potential other forms which may play a role, many of them were invented after WW2 or during it when Rogers was engaging the enemy axis. His private tutors' identities

Alley permanently marked the unforgettable night with a wrist tattoo that said "Unbroken," explaining, "I wanted to commemorate this show for me... that I could look at [during the rest of the show]."

Kirstie added that she and former New Kids on the Block singer Jonathan Knight are "just friends," and insists she can persuade good pal John Travolta to make an appearance on the show. "I gotta call him. I'm gonna get him out here."

Help me inspire my retired Dad once again

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 09:48 AM PDT

Reddit, my dad is depressed.

He's been retired for about a year now, and he turned 65 just last month, and he does nothing... absolutely nothing.

He has no hobby, no passion, nothing but his wine (which he starts drinking way too early in the morning) and minor health issues he's putting emphasis on do do less than necessary for the household. My mom is getting crazy.

Countless times I've walked in when visiting my folks, he's sitting on the couch staring at the landscape doing .. nothing. Now, Reddit, the closest object to the windows is his television. He doesn't like staying up late so he never watches any cable movie.

I'd like to purchase a few DVD movies that he could watch during the day, ones that could inspire the old man and give him some will to breathe again, to find passion, to actually get up his couch and do something.

He's not a man that'll rent a movie, he needs to be spoonfed, so I'm calling on you ! don't dissapoint me ! Please give me your very best ideas for motivational movies that you can think of, he's major interests are into : Golf, painting, south american-precolumbian art, good knowledge of that culture, classical music.

I hope you can help !

Could Martin Scorsese pull off The Catcher in the Rye?

Posted: 06 Apr 2011 10:55 AM PDT

Perhaps he's not in touch enough with adolescent angst and confusion anymore, but he's proved more than once that he can do troubled, mentally ill characters and there's no question that he has more than enough experience doing films in New York City.

Discuss.
