Transformers: Dark of the Moon to Feature the Dinobots!

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 10:26 AM PDT

And here you thought Transformers: Dark of the Moon was going to take a more serious approach to its storytelling this time out! New toy images from Hasbro's upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon action figure line have revealed that two, maybe more, of the Dinobots are going to be making an appearance in director Michael Bay's upcoming summer sequel. Pictured are Triceradon (who, we just found out from our good friend Danny DeVito, will be voiced by 'man of a thousand screams' Mike Patton; though this may be a joke, as Patton was rumored to be voicing a dump truck in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which wasn't true...Word is that there was such strong fan response to that fake rumor, Michael Bay is actually employing the Faith No More singer's dynamic vocals this time out...We'll believe it when we hear it), and Rav, the metal pterodactyl. Check out the images below.

In the original Transformers cartoon series and comic book, the Dinobots were three robots built on Earth by Autobots Wheeljack and Ratchet, after Ironhide discovered a set of dinosaur bones. They are the only Autobots that can fly in robot-mode, and they included Grimlock, Slag, and Sludge. As the packaging indicates above, the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Dinobots will have different names.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon comes to theaters July 1st, 2011 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk, John Malkovich. The film is directed by Michael Bay.
