Man of Steel Follows Superman from Infancy to Adulthood Posted: 13 Apr 2011 10:33 AM PDT There has been no shortage of casting news regarding Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, though little is still known about the story. Actress Diane Lane, who will play Clark Kent's adoptive mother Martha Kent, recently revealed that the screenplay spans from Clark Kent's birth up to his adult life. Here's what she had to say about this new take on the mythos, revealing she only had a few hours in a locked room to read the script. "I read the script under lock and key. I was locked in a room with the script and was only allowed three hours with it. I nailed it into my memory. I'm really excited. I'm really not allowed to talk much about it, I think, but it does cover the entire range of years, from infancy on." Last month, director Zack Snyder said that his Man of Steel will not have any ties to any previous Superman movie. If this is the case, it seems we will see a new version of Clark Kent's origins, since the original Superman featured several iconic scenes dealing with Superman's infancy. Man of Steel comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon. The film is directed by Zack Snyder. |
Posted: 13 Apr 2011 10:39 AM PDT Singing sensation Justin Bieber headed to the Holy Land for his world tour -- and brought the fever with him. From screaming hordes of teenagers to Israeli dignitaries, the pop singer was besieged from the moment he arrived, even running into paparazzi with his scooter while trying to go on a sightseeing jaunt. Watch the video! The Biebs complained about the paparazzi on his Twitter account, tweeting, "They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous." He later wrote, "i want to see this country and all the places ive dreamed of and whether its the paps [paparazzi] or being pulled into politics its been frustrating." The last comment may refer to the speculation Bieber was to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "We were approached by Justin Bieber's people about a meeting with the Prime Minister and Mr. Netanyahu was open to it," a spokesman told ABC News. "[Netanyahu] had an idea, he'd bring a number of youngsters that have a difficult time in bomb shelters over the past few weeks and bring them to an event that would be for them a fun occasion." But the meeting did not happen, with the Prime Minister's office saying, "Unfortunately, it proved impossible." A spokesman for Bieber told Associated Press that a meeting was never planned. Another told the New York Times that children from the Sderot area, often targeted by missiles, had been invited to Thursday night's concert. |

Michael Fassbender Reveals New X-Men: First Class Plot Spoilers And Details! Posted: 13 Apr 2011 09:47 AM PDT On Who Erik Lehnsherr Is: At the start of the movie we get introduced to him as a boy, who is played by Bill Milner, who is a fantastic actor. I've watched a little bit of what he did and it's great. So you start in the concentration camps with him and then it sort of jump-cuts to 20 years later. It's the early 1960s and Erik is a grown man. And he's on a quest to get Sebastian Shaw. On Why Erik Is After Sebastian Shaw: Shaw had him in these concentration camps and as we know, the Nazis were doing lots of experimentation - all sorts of things, like measuring skull and brain size and running experiments on human beings. So Shaw is trying to unleash this power in him - he's recognized that he can manipulate metal and so we catch up with Erik on a quest to hunt him down. On |
American Horror Story Gets Jessica Lange Posted: 13 Apr 2011 09:30 AM PDT Two-time Oscar winner Jessica Lange will make her series television debut with American Horror Story for Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Jessica Lange will play the irritating neighbor of Vivien Harmon, who we reported last month is being played by Connie Britton. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are currently rewriting the pilot to make Jessica Lange the third lead character. Not much is known about the plot of American Horror Story, although Vivien Harmon is described as a powerful woman who is married to a timid therapist, Ben. While the Ben role has not been cast yet, Denis O'Hare has signed on to play "Larry the burn guy." Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk wrote the pilot script, which Murphy will direct. Production will start on the American Horror Story pilot later this month. Although it hasn't officially been picked up yet, FX is apparently already targeting the show for a fall launch. |
X-Men: First Class Sets Up Sequels That Could Take Place in the 70s and 80s Posted: 13 Apr 2011 10:19 AM PDT X-Men: First Class doesn't hit theaters for another month and a half, but that hasn't stopped director Matthew Vaughn and his cast from discussing potential sequel ideas. Vaughn has revealed that the ending of X-Men: First Class definitely sets itself up for future sequels. Here's what he said. "First Class is similar to Batman Begins, where you have the fun of introducing the characters and getting to know them, but that takes time. But with the second one you can just get on with it and have a rollicking good time. That's the main difference between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. 1962 is far more grounded in the world of the '50s. I think it takes about five years for a decade to really start getting its identity, so the fun thing about this for me would be doing [a sequel] in the latter part of the decade, where you've got The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Flower Power..." Bryan Singer hints that the next chapter might take place in the 1970s or 1980s. "That's an idea that's been discussed. How the characters go through time. But only to a point - they can't age too fast!" Finally, James McAvoy, who plays Professor X in this prequel, pontificated on where he'd eventually like to take his iconic character. "In First Class he uses Cerebro for the first time and maybe it unlocks something in his head - maybe he can't keep the voices out or something. So in the second movie his journey could be about getting himself out of a mess. And then in the third movie he become...Patrick Stewart!" X-Men: First Class comes to theaters June 3rd, 2011 and stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Caleb Landry Jones, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, Edi Gathegi, Jason Flemyng. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn. |
