Mark Millar Briefly Updates The Status On Sequels To Wanted & Kick-Ass

Posted: 23 Apr 2011 10:07 AM PDT

While chatting with SUPER HERO HYPE about his recently debuted Kapow! Con, the topic of discussion changed to movie adaptions, in which Millar tackled the subject of the movie sequels to his graphic novel Wanted & his comic mini series Kick-Ass: What's happening with the sequel to "Wanted"? MM: "It's almost like a riddle. "Wanted" made so much money, but it cost $70 million but they made $250, so they want a sequel, but they killed off the reason that it made that money, so they're trying to figure out a way of bringing Angelina back from the dead, and they can't figure it out. Every month or so I'll talk to the guys at Universal, and they'll say 'We'll talk to some screenwriters, we'll do another draft', and Angelina's like 'my character's dead, I'm not coming back.' There's been two or three screenplays. And "Kick-Ass 2"? MM: "Kick-Ass 2," just not sure. We're

Iron Man 3 to Be Co-Written by Shane Black

Posted: 23 Apr 2011 09:07 AM PDT

Shane Black to co-write Iron Man 3

In late March, Marvel Studios anounced that Drew Pearce was coming on to write Iron Man 3, with new director Shane Black closely overseeing this first draft. Sources today claim that Black will actually be co-writing the screenplay with Pearce.

Shane Black made his directorial debut with 2005's Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, but is best known for his screenplay work throughout the 80s, having created the films Lethal Weapon, The Monster Squad, and The Last Boy Scout. The majority of Iron Man 3's storyline is being created by Shane Black, with intent for it to be a mystery thriller with real life villains.

It is believed that Drew Pearce was brought in to curb Shane Black's notoriously R rated writing style, as Walt Disney Pictures wants to keep the film family friendly. Others claim that is false.

Iron Man 3 comes to theaters May 3rd, 2013 and stars Robert Downey Jr.. The film is directed by Shane Black.

Beastie Boys Rely on Boombox During Livestream at Madison Square Garden

Leave it to the Beastie Boys to pull out all the stops while on the promo run for their highly anticipated album 'Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2,' set for release on May 3 via Capitol Records. The rap trio set up shop in Madison Square Garden on Saturday (April 23) to hold a Livestream, but as fans click on the link to take a look at what the New Yorkers have to offer, it's apparent something is amiss.

The 'Make Some Noise' creators decided to skip out on showcasing themselves but rather let a boombox do the talking -- in this case, rapping -- for them. In the middle of Madison Square Garden's basketball court, the New York Knicks logo decorating the floor, stands a single boombox with two microphones at its front. Besides a mysterious person dressed in a gorilla suit and the occasional maintenance employee passing by the camera, the arena is empty but the sounds of some of the Beastie Boys' recognized tunes --'Too Many Rappers' featuring Nas, 'Don't Play No Game that I Can't Win' -- fill the air.

Check out what the Beastie Boys have in store on the Livestream below.
