Tennis Brave High Seas to Find 'Paradise' in Music and Love

Fat Possum

While some bands disintegrate after a few weeks in a tour van, Tennis -- the Colorado-based duo of Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore -- actually formed after a treacherous sailboat journey on the Atlantic Ocean. A blend of adventure, danger and romance, the three-month trip inspired the couple to write 'Cape Dory,' an album of sunny, retro-influenced indie-pop tracks that allowed them to relive their time on the ocean. Spinner spoke with Riley about what inspired the trip, the several near-sinkings of their boat and how they ended up with their "WASPy" name.

You and Alaina started the band after taking a long sailing trip in the Atlantic. How did that come about?

It was my idea. A while back when I was like 12 years old, my parents took me out on my first sailing trip. I grew up in Arizona so it was kind of a big deal. We rented a boat in San Diego and that was all it took. From that day forward, I created this fantastical dream that I would save up money and buy my own small boat and sail away to my own paradise. It's been years and years of saving and devoting myself to this idea, years of sacrifice and working overtime and finally making it work.

Kirstie Alley Mad for Maks?

Posted: 22 Apr 2011 11:00 AM PDT

"Dancing with the Stars" duo Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy talked about their "chemistry" on "Good Morning America" Friday, but stopped short of being too specific. "Maks is really funny," said Alley. "He's actually pretty easy if you tell him you love him all the time." Alley did confess she liked Maks' "bad boy" persona. "I have to admit this. That I was like, 'Oh, you know, he's a bad boy.' And I'm like, 'Hmm. I want to --' you know... you sort of want to conquer a bad boy." When asked by "GMA" reporter Robin Roberts if they were more than just dance partners, Alley said, "We always have chemistry." "Clearly," Chmerkovskiy added. Watch the interview!

Denise Richards 'Not in the Best Place' with Charlie Sheen

Posted: 22 Apr 2011 11:00 AM PDT

Reality star Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, spoke openly about the state of things with Charlie during an interview on "Watch What Happens Live," Thursday night on Bravo.

Richards said of her ex, "It's very sad for me to see him on this path. I've heard he's chosen to use me in part of his tour, and that's hurtful, but that's his choice," adding, "We're not in the best place right now, to be honest with you, but I still communicate with him."

Denise, who has daughters Sam, 7, and Lola, 5, with Sheen, went on to say she has accepted what he is doing, but "there's things that aren't the most appropriate for two young and impressionable daughters."

When asked if she knew for certain whether Charlie was sober, Richards replied, "I don't know."

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a great week! Thanks for voting for us!

OK, so the "sex on a stick" speech. I was auditioning for a Woody Allen movie or something! I don't know what was going on there. I think it had a little Vince Vaughn delivery. After I said all of that, Kirstie was like, "OK, don't ever do that again." It all just sort of came out. The thing is, where I'm from in the Ukraine, we are known for a certain sense of humor and satire. When ...

The iconic red and blue costume will be featured in the second-to-last episode titled Smallville: Prophecy, and we have a new photo galllery offering a glimpse of what this particular pair of tights will look like. Check it out below.

In Smallville: Prophecy, Clark (Tom Welling) takes Lois (Erica Durance) to the Fortress to get Jor-El's (voiced by Terence Stamp) blessing for their marriage. Jor-El bestows a unique wedding gift on the couple - he gives Lois Clark's super powers so she can see what it's like to be him for a day. Unfortunately, the Toyman (guest star Chris Gauthier) has returned to Metropolis, so Lois must go up against the notorious villain instead of Clark. Meanwhile, Oliver (Justin Hartley) searches for the Bow of Orion, which he believes will remove the Omega symbol from his skull, and runs into Kara (guest star Laura Vandervoort), who is also on a mission to stop Darkseid.

Smallville episode 10.21, "Finale" airs on The CW May 13th, 2011. The episode stars Michael Rosenbaum, Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Annette O'Toole, Justin Hartley, Cassidy Freeman and is directed by James Marshall, Greg Beeman.
