Captain America USO Song Adds Comedy Says Chris Evans

Posted: 15 Apr 2011 10:32 AM PDT

Chris Evans says USO scene brings humor to Captain America

Captain America: The First Avenger will not be a movie completely devoid of humor. As we learned in early February, Oscar nominated musician Alan Menken has penned a new song for this Marvel adventure, which will be used in a scene where Steve Rogers has to perform as part of the Army's USO tour.

Star Chris Evans recently chatted about this scene in particular, revelaing that while it is a very catchy song, he didn't actually sing it himself. He went onto reveal that the song actually brings some much-needed comic relief to this action-heavy endevor.

Here is what Chris Evans said.

"There is a Captain America song, but I don't sing it. Initially in the film, when he becomes Captain America, long story short the serum is destroyed and they can't reproduce the experiment so I'm the only super soldier there is. The U.S. government won't allow me to go to war because it's too risky and they can't afford to lose me, but they use me as a propaganda tool and they send me on a USO Tour. So there's a whole Captain America song, and they try to make him a little bit of a celebrity to try and sell bonds. There is a Captain America song, and there was a week of shooting, and I had that song in my head. I couldn't stop humming it! It was so annoying. But it's a funny sequence actually."

Chris Evans also talked about traversing the different timelines between Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers.

"Yeah, at least there's some meat on the bone. You want to play a character that has conflict - that's what makes a character appealing to an actor, getting to find an arc and a reason, something to chew on. And that's a lot. If you woke up one day and it was 50, 60 years in the future and everyone you knew had passed away and the entire world around you is different - you don't have a friend, you don't know anybody, you don't know anything - that'd be a lot to take in. It's exciting as an actor to try and tackle that."

Captain America: The First Avenger comes to theaters July 22nd, 2011 and stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Neal McDonough, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones. The film is directed by Joe Johnston.

RUMOR: Adam Harris Lex Luthor Photoshoot?

Posted: 15 Apr 2011 11:13 AM PDT

Many of you will remember a couple weeks ago we posted the story claiming that the relatively unknown actor Adam Harris was in the running for Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder's upcoming movie 'Man of Steel'. The report even went so far as to claim that he has met with Snyder and had gone through a couple stages of auditioning already. Earlier today I received an e-mail containing these images that are supposedly from a recent photoshoot that Adam Harris was apart of for the role. However it remains to be seen whether these are from an official cast shoot, or just something the actor put together himself trying to campaign for the role. These are definitely new pictures because as many of you will remember when the first story broke that it was nearly impossible to find any pictures of the actor. I'll leave it up to you guys to decide but

In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There's new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime "Transformers" character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth. [Click on the image to enlarge it] "This one is a more mature storyline, definitely darker, more emotional in the end. You feel the stakes are higher because it takes place in an American city. You're not disconnected with Egypt and the pyramids. I'm very happy with the movie," he says, touching lightly on the story we can

Chris Evans And Chris Hemsworth Talk About The Scale Of The Avengers!

Posted: 15 Apr 2011 10:13 AM PDT

Thanks to RealIrOnMaN, we now have the Avengers related excerpts from the duos "USA Weekend" interview. Once again, it certainly sounds as if we can expect to see the members of the superhero team come to blows both physically and in terms of personality. Guys, can you spill any details on The Avengers? Chris Evans: It's enormous in scale. You have the meeting of all these superheroes, all these huge personalities and huge abilities coming together. It doesn't gel right away obviously – there has to be conflict, and there's plenty of conflict. It's pretty epic. Chris Hemsworth: I'm extremely excited. I'm such a fan of all those guys and all those characters. Being able to watch them evolve and established already and now throw them all together, it's a better way of doing it than if we'd brought them in together first and then branched off. Whereas this, you can relate to

On Thursday night, TV on the Radio performed for the third time in as many days in New York City, this time taking the stage for a special 'Live on Letterman' webcast.

Although the band celebrated the release of its fifth album, 'Nine Types of Light,' on Tuesdsay, it opted to treat the Ed Sullivan Theater crowd to a career-spanning set that kicked off with 2003's 'Young Liars.' The selections ranged from spacey to funky and full-on rock burners, closed out with a tremendous take on 'Wolf Like Me.' Check out the full performance below.

A video from a Q&A with Neil Gaiman gives hope on a potential Neverwhere film adaptation in the future.
