Frank Turner Not Angry About Royal Wedding, Just the 'F---ed' Media Coverage

According to English folk-punk singer-songwriter Frank Turner -- who, over the course of his six years as a solo performer, has shown little love for the United Kingdom -- the upcoming royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton is "lower on the list" of things he gets angry about.

"I find it very hard to give two s---s about it," Turner, a recent nominee for NME's Best Solo Artist award, tells Spinner. "I get slightly frustrated with people who get annoyed about the royal wedding on the grounds of taxpayers' money because it's going to bring an awful lot more money into the United Kingdom through tourism and all the rest of it."

"I'm much more bothered about sinecures for useless, bulls--- politicians and the appalling rot of our welfare state," he continues. "If you want to talk about government expenditures to get pissed off about, I can talk about it till the f---ing cows come home. The royal wedding is lower on the list of things I get angry about."

Turner is currently touring North America in anticipation of his fourth LP, 'England Keep My Bones' -- a title taken from Shakespeare's 'The Life and Death of King John' -- and is happy to be missing out on the April 29 ceremony and all the hoopla in his homeland.

Jodi Foster on Mel Gibson Quitting Acting

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 11:07 AM PDT

"The Beaver" director Jodi Foster spoke candidly with "Extra" about her good friend, Mel Gibson, who told Deadline.com, "I don't care if I never act again."

Foster responded to the troubled star's confession. "I think it would be a tremendous loss to not have him acting again."

Read Mel's Candid Interview

Mel stars in Foster's film "The Beaver" as a traumatized man, Walter Black, who channels his personality into a beaver puppet, in a role some critics are calling the best of his career. "I do think it's a side of Mel that people haven't seen in a long time. It's incredibly raw and very brave of him," Foster said.

She added, "I called him last week and said, 'I hope you know that people are amazed by the performance.' I know he is proud of it -- secretly he will say to me, 'I really like it.'"

Foster explained the association between Mel's personal life and the connection to his character's role. "He understands a man struggling with self-loathing, who wants to change, and in this moment of spiritual crisis, only believes he has the choice of a life sentence or death sentence. In the midst of this, he finds a survival tool that gets him through it and allows him to live again, and I think that is something that understands from a personal place."

The dams open for "The Beaver" to hit theaters on May 6.

21 Jump Street Shoots Johnny Depp Cameo Tomorrow!

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 10:15 AM PDT

Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise shoot 21 Jump Street cameos tomorrow in New Orleans

Actor Johnny Depp will be in New Orleans tomorrow to shoot his cameo for the new 21 Jump Street theatrical remake, which just started filming on Monday. Another cast member from the original 21 Jump Street TV series, Peter DeLuise, will also be on hand, shooting his cameo alongside Depp. Here's what an insider had to say about both upcoming cameo apperances.

"Depp will be arriving at Second Line Stages in New Orleans, Louisiana, tomorrow to film his cameo for the film. The slot for his role is only labeled as "D.B." Jonah Hill & Channing Tatum will be off camera, while Peter DeLuise will join Depp in what appears to be one of the first scenes for the film. Second Line Stages is located at 800 Richard St. New Orleans, LA, and was recently occupied by Warner Bros' upcoming superhero movie Green Lantern."

This is the first we've heard that Peter DeLuise will make a cameo appearance in 21 Jump Street. It is unknown if the rest of the 21 Jump Street original cast, such as Holly Robinson Peete and Dustin Nguyen, will appear in the remake.

We reported back in February that Jonah Hill had written a cameo role for Johnny Depp, although Johnny Depp had not been confirmed for the role until just recently. It isn't known if he will be portraying his original character, Officer Tom Hanson, or a different character.

21 Jump Street comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Rob Riggle, DeRay Davis, Jake M. Johnson. The film is directed by Phil Lord, Chris Miller.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 Will Not Have Multiple Endings

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 10:03 AM PDT

Tom Felton clears up rumors of multiple endings in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 will bring the Hogwarts saga to a close in theaters on July 15, and there has been speculation about the ending as of late. Actress Helen McCrory, who plays Narcissa Malfoy, let it slip that the finale will feature multiple endings. Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy, clarified those comments earlier today.

"Different endings is definitely an exaggeration. One of the beauties we had is that we stuck originally to the book and filmed everything. Now, of course, we can't have a four hour film. Obviously, the director is going to have to pick and choose. Even I'm excited to see exactly what happens, because I haven't seen the final cut."

The actor did say the ending will differ slightly than the J.K. Rowling novel.

"There will definitely be alterations. Not necessarily alternate endings. I'm sorry to inform you that Draco doesn't win in the end and overpower Harry and get the girl! It just doesn't happen for him, I'm afraid."

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 comes to theaters July 15th, 2011 and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Ralph Fiennes, Bonnie Wright, Michael Gambon. The film is directed by David Yates.
