I know people are tired of remakes, but what are some films that could actually be HELPED with a remake?

Posted: 06 Jan 2012 11:12 AM PST

I'm talking a QUALITY remake. Not some bottom-of-the-barrel director with a crap budget, a REAL attempt at serving the original material justice. What do you have?

What's the huge love for Tarantino about?

Posted: 06 Jan 2012 10:06 AM PST

I recall seeing a thread about a New Year's Resolution about not posting threads on here about Tarantino/Fincher/Nolan. This is my only exception to, what I think, is a great resolution. This thread will probably get downvoted to shit anyway but I don't care, I feel like this needs addressing. On the thread 'Most Undeserving Oscar Winners' there was a negative comment about Pulp Fiction (which for the record I think is a great film) which lead to this comment being made. Now, I don't mind backing up your favourite director or whatever but why re-write history and claim that Tarantino did more than he actually did? According to that redditor, Tarantino (or more specifically Reservoir Dogs) was responsible for Lynch's 'revival' (what?) and the success of directors, who in my opinion owe nothing to Tarantino, like Fincher, Smith and Linklater. Anyway, I just wanted to know what is the big deal about Tarantino? Am I missing something, is actual the messiah of cinema? Or are people reluctant to admit that the almighty Quentin can, and has, made mistakes? I'd love to see whether this thread gets any response beside 'OMFG Tarantino is so fucking good.' I tried instigating another debate similar to this with disastrous results so I'm not expecting anything more with this thread.

Another Report Debunks Previous Rumors Of The Skrulls Being In THE AVENGERS

Posted: 06 Jan 2012 09:34 AM PST

Badass Digest's Devin Faraci was one of the first to bring us the news that The Avengers would be facing off against the Skrulls in the upcoming superhero ensemble while Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige actually told him directly that Fox own only the right to the Super Skrull while they in fact own the rest of the Skrull Empire. Here's what he's now had to say in regards to the still unrevealed alien villains. "Well, it turns out that either he was jumping the gun or someone in legal didn't want to test the difference between those two concepts, and the aliens in The Avengers have been rebranded as something else, as well as redesigned." So, is this just a guess or even more details from his "close source" to Marvel? That's not completely clear, although this would certainly make some sense after the slew of recent rumours which has pegged Loki's

Is Ricky Martin Getting Hitched?

Posted: 06 Jan 2012 11:25 AM PST

Pop star Ricky Martin addressed recent rumors about getting married to longtime beau Carlos Gonzalez Abella, telling Latina magazine, "We're not talking about marriage, we're not thinking about it. But I'm so happy that in Europe we have the option. It's amazing to think that we can say, 'I feel like it. I'm ready. Let's go.'"

Although the suave singer ruled out marriage for now, he did express wanting to expand his brood with a baby girl. Martin has twins Valentino and Matteo (via surrogate mother), and talked about plans for a third child, saying, "I think that I'll do it later on this year, so that [the kids] are not too far apart in ages. A little girl! My God, I'm dying, but we're going to talk about that later on. It would be irresponsible to do it now."

The sexy 40-year-old recently taped his appearance on "Glee," and posted a photo from his first day on the set. The episode will air Jan. 31 on FOX.

"That's all an avalanche of lies," said Renner. "I'm fine. I just happened to be in a bar where a nasty bar fight occurred. It's lame how I've been thrown in the mix."

Jeremy added, "I'm smiling and sun-soaked, working in Manila."

It was reported Thursday that Renner and friends were bar-hopping on the island and eventually ended up at the nightclub where the altercation occurred.

Renner is currently working on the new "Bourne" franchise film in Manila.
