Brad Pitt Reveals Plan of Attack Against Clooney: It's 'So Ruthless'

Posted: 23 Jan 2012 10:56 AM PST

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet at the Producers Guild Awards, with Brad telling "Extra" about a few pranks he has in store for his pal, George Clooney. Pitt hinted, "I've been sitting on one that is so brutal, and so ruthless. I've had it in my pocket for about five years, I think."

The "Moneyball" actor added, "We are like two nuclear superpowers at this point. We shouldn't launch because we will annihilate each other."

When asked if he was conspiring for something at the Oscars, Pitt replied, "No, no. We're gonna handle this one like gentlemen and we'll get dirty off camera."

The handsome hunk, dressed in Gucci, stood next to his lovely partner, Angelina -- who looked elegant in a lacy, black Michael Kors number. Jolie explained their six children are ready for awards season to be done. "The kids are getting really sick of us leaving. They're over this whole thing."

Pitt, who attended the event without the aid of his cane, revealed, "It's my knee. It's much better, but it's gonna be a while. I'm getting better."

Brad said he was extremely proud of Jolie, who was honored with the Stanley Kramer Award for her emotional Bosnian war movie, "In the Land of Blood and Honey." Pitt recalled, "I remember the morning she woke up and said she was going to write something. It's an amazing feat and I'm very, very proud of her. I know how much it means to her."

Angie, 36, said, "Tonight is about producers, it's about the craft and pulling it together and for each of us here we had our battles to get our film made, and some were very hard, so to actually get them made and get them made well, you do your best and you're very, very grateful to be acknowledged."

Jon Bernthal Leaving The Walking Dead for L.A. Noir?

Posted: 23 Jan 2012 09:46 AM PST

Jon Bernthal circling Frank Darabont's L.A. Noir pilot

Actor Jon Bernthal is in early talks to join Frank Darabont's new TNT pilot L.A. Noir. These talks have just recently begun, so it isn't certain that a deal will be made.

If he signs on, Jon Bernthal will play Jon Teague, an LAPD cop who is in the middle of his department's ongoing war with gangster Mickey Cohen in the 1940s and 1950s. Frank Darabont wrote the pilot script based on John Buntin's non-fiction book of the same name.

It isn't known how this will affect Jon Bernthal's status on the hit AMC series The Walking Dead. Frank Darabont created the popular AMC series, but departed as showrunner after Season 1. It is possible Jon Bernthal could star in both shows, if the L.A. Noir pilot is picked up to series, and doesn't conflict with The Walking Dead's shooting schedule.

However, there were rumors that Jon Bernthal asked to be let out of his contract on The Walking Dead soon after Frank Darabont's departure. Jon Bernthal's character, Shane, was killed off in the Robert Kirkman graphic novels upon which the AMC series is based, so it's possible that the show may follow suit sometime in Season 2.

No production schedule was given for L.A. Noir, but you can watch Jon Bernthal as Shane when The Walking Dead returns to AMC Sunday, February 12.

Sean Penn Spent Every Penny to Save Haiti

Posted: 23 Jan 2012 10:41 AM PST

"Extra's" Jerry Penacoli caught up with actor Sean Penn at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival to talk about his new indie drama, "This Must Be the Place" - and about how he spent most of his money helping Haiti to recover from the devastating 2010 earthquake.

sean-penn.jpg

"I got to Haiti and found myself having spent all my money," Penn explained. "I had spent out, among other things, and I had to go back to work. The [J/P Haitian Relief] organization was up and running. We had a reasonable leadership in place that could take over for me while I was away."

Some of that work included starring in "This Must Be the Place," playing a retired androgynous rock star who decides to find his father's executioner, an ex-Nazi war criminal who is a refugee in the U.S.

Penacoli marveled at how the actor is able to stay balanced and humble. The Oscar winner replied, "Well, you know anybody who has kids has a method by which they can be humbled, so I'm conscious of that all the time and God knows, I'm not strictly humble."

Sucré Craft Dreamlike Pop on 'When We Were Young' -- Song Premiere

Elsie Larson (RedVelvetArt.com)

Featuring the ethereal vocals of Stacy King, along with her drummer husband Darren King, and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Larson's gorgeous soundscapes, Sucré write the kind of pop songs that get lodged into your head even before the very first chorus even kicks in. Even though their collaboration began a couple of years back, it took Stacy some time to get the nerve to ask Jeremy if he was even game to work together.

"From the first time I heard Jeremy's wonderful string compositions, I wanted to sing to them. I felt that he was doing something really beautiful and unique, and it took me a while to get up the courage to ask him to collaborate with me," says Stacy. "Among many things, Jeremy and I had this in common: my husband Darren was our favorite drummer. Thankfully, he was readily available."

Sucré will be releasing their debut album on April 10, but Spinner is thrilled to bring you the exclusive premiere of 'When We Were Young,' one of our favorite tracks off the record. The way Stacy's crystalline vocals float through the lush arrangements is almost dreamlike. This is pop music of the highest order.
