Isaac Mizrahi Talks 'Project Runway' and 'Golden Globes' Posted: 12 Jan 2012 11:35 AM PST Designer Isaac Mizrahi recently chatted with "Extra's" Maria Menounos about his role as a judge in "Project Runway: All Stars." Mizrahi revealed what drew him to the reality show, saying, "It is all about the creative process. There is so much drama in this particular one because it is all the stars coming back to try again." The stakes are higher in this "Project Runway" spinoff, as the winner will receive $500K and a boutique at Neiman Marcus. Mizrahi also briefly spoke about his new men's line, and said, "Well, that's not going to happen until 2012 some time." When Maria noted, "It is 2012," a startled Isaac replied, "Oh, wait a minute!" The fashion guru dished on what he expects at this year's Golden Globes, saying, "I see a lot of color, bold color. And I see really, really simple clothes." Mizrahi, 50, recently tied the knot with longtime beau, Arnold Germer, in a simple City Hall ceremony in NYC. The newlywed said he and Arnold might have a more lavish affair on their one-year anniversary, and told Menounos, "In that case, you should come." "Project Runway: All Stars" airs on Thursdays at 9:00 PM on Lifetime. |
Posted: 12 Jan 2012 10:29 AM PST Been a Netflix Instant user for a long time, and I'm used to seeing new movies and TV shows added usually at the beginning of the month. I know in general the quality is low but there are usually a couple of gems or new episodes of TV show. With the start of the new year, the largest addition seems to be a ton of Bollywood movies, the Justin Beiber movie, and a bunch of crap. It is almost the middle of the month and maybe it is just me, but there is nothing so far that interests me in the least. And I'm really not that picky. I even tried to watch the miserable 11/11/11. Then I got a letter stating I could be part of a class action lawsuit against Netflix. And I am reading here studios are delaying releasing new movies to Netflix. This is all after the price hikes the studios kind of forced on Netflix, and the PR disaster that caused many to cancel their subscriptions. Personally, I would hate to see Netflix Instant (or discs) go. I discovered some of my favorite shows on it (Top Gear for example) and it has ruined me for TV since I can't stand commercials anymore. I remember something similar happening to Hulu not long after it was released. Shows started vanishing and new episodes got delayed, etc., to the point where I just stopped using it. Hope the same doesn't happen with Netflix. If the studios are working against Netflix the studios are killing a great non-traditional delivery system for their product. [link] [8 comments] |

Hey Reddit, I need you guys to give me your "must see" movies. Posted: 12 Jan 2012 10:46 AM PST I'm realizing lately that there are far too many classic movies that most people claim I MUST SEE! For example I have never seen Apocalypse Now. I know, crucify me. So help me out and give me more just like it. They can be modern too. I'm just looking for those major influential, game changing type movies. Thanks!! [link] [6 comments] |

The Tomb Wants Director Mikael Hafstrom Posted: 12 Jan 2012 09:36 AM PST Director Mikael Håfström is in talks to board The Tomb for Summit Entertainment. Antoine Fuqua had previously been set to direct, at a time when Bruce Willis was attached to star. The story centers around Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone), a security expert who designed a prison that is believed to be inpenetrable and escape-proof. When he is set up and sent to the very prison he helped create, he must try to outsmart himself to escape and clear his name. We reported last night that Arnold Schwarzenegger is circling a key role in The Tomb. This new report claims Arnold Schwarzenegger has been approached for the role, but official negotiations haven't begun yet. Mikael Håfström will direct The Tomb from a screenplay by Miles Chapman. Jason Keller was brought on to rewrite Chapman's original draft when Antoine Fuqua was set to direct, but now Mikael Håfström is working on a new draft with Miles Chapman. The Tomb is in development and stars Sylvester Stallone. The film is directed by Mikael Håfström. |
COMICS: First Look At NEMESIS 2; Reveals Details On The Plot And Status Of Movie Adaptation Posted: 12 Jan 2012 09:47 AM PST "The sequel is an entirely different beast from the first story. It opens up the world and expands upon everything we've seen before with new leads and an entirely new set-up. 'Nemesis' was always intended to be a 12-issue story with three four-issue series. Each one is interlinked and builds, but they're also quite self-contained and work as stories in their own right. The only character who returns from the first volume is the old guy on the beach on the last page of the last issue. You realize that the Nemesis idea, this concept of dressing up and being a super-villain, is basically a holiday for rich guys. A few times a year, these guys take a few weeks away from their multi-national companies and spend a bunch of money to feast upon the poor. It's the 1% having fun messing up the lives of the 99%." Emma Roberts Pulls Out of Harmony Korine's Spring Breakers Posted: 12 Jan 2012 09:02 AM PST Anyone who knows Harmony Korine's directorial work, which includes such grimy cult classics as Trash Humpers, Gummo, Julien Donkey-boy, and his best work to date, Mister Lonely, knows they are not getting a typical teen sex romp with the man's latest effort Spring Breakers. Star Emma Roberts obviously didn't know Harmony Korine's previous work. Set to headline this "spoof", if you will, of the Spring Break comedies so prominent in the 80s, the young actress has bailed on the movie, because she didn't see eye-to-eye with the director (whose first major project was writing the screenplay for the controversial, sex-drenched coming-of-age drama Kids). She should have known what to expect. Alas, she had no clue what she was getting herself into. A source close to the production said this. "There were creative differences that couldn't be resolved." While Emma Roberts has permanently jumped ship on what might be one of the most interesting comedies of the year, other major stars are staying put. James Franco will hold onto his co-starring role as a drug dealer-turned-rapper who bails a group of girlfriends out of jail so that he can use them in a plot to kill his arch nemesis. Walt Disney cast-offs Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens are sticking with the project as well, starring alongside Harmony Korine's real-life wife Rachel Korine, as the three (formerly four) buddies who rob a bank to pay for their spring break trip to the beach, only to wind up behind bars as soon as they hit the surf. There is no news on who will replace Emma Roberts. Harmony Korine had purposely collected a group of well-known young actresses with a similar reputation in Hollywood. Sources say that he is currently courting Demi Lovato and Elle Fanning as a replacement, as well as Modern Family's Sarah Hyland. Spring Breakers comes to theaters in 2012. |
