Director Josh Trank On CHRONICLE, Reiterates He Has No Idea About FANTASTIC FOUR Posted: 30 Jan 2012 10:03 AM PST Josh Trank has emerged on the scene out of nowhere and by all accounts his first feature film will be hit, if film critics are to be believed. Personally, I was incredibly skeptical about the movie as I'm not a big fan of the found-footage genre but I have to admit the marketing blitz has made me intrigued enough to go see the film. In an interview with Collider, Trank really opens up about the film and also, very briefly reiterates that he doesn't really know anything where Fantastic Four is concerned. Best animated films general Posted: 30 Jan 2012 08:24 AM PST I'll start, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Princess Mononoke, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Paprika would be my nominations. A western feature is fine too, I just couldn't claim to be as familiar with the genre outside of stuff I've seen as a kid, most of which are fine for kids films but I find it hard to go back to them outside of nostalgia value. submitted by 948ncf [link] [25 comments]

Can Americans tell when an actor from another country is doing a bad American accent? Posted: 30 Jan 2012 08:00 AM PST As an Australian, I can tell pretty well when an American or someone attempts an Australian accent and fails. So, I was wondering whether the reverse is true. Can an American tell when someone is doing a bad version of their accent? I only ask because I'm working on an indie feature at the moment and the main actors, who are all supposed to be from the US, sound anything but. Yes, the Rocket Man chose that pearl of wisdom when asked by 'Good Morning America' host Chris Connelly if he had any insight for Madge. "I've never seen a decent one -- never ever," he told Connelly Jan. 30. "Of course you have to play live, but I don't think you can. In all fairness to everyone who's done one before, you may be able to sing live but it's really hard to play live.
