Frank Miller Bashes Occupy Wall Street Posted: 13 Nov 2011 09:17 AM PST Earlier this week Frank Miller was asked how Batman would respond to the protests on Wall Street, and he said, "Batman would respect the first amendment." But Frank didn't want to just share the opinions of a fictional character. He wanted to chime in with his own opinions. He wrote a scathing letter about the protesters. Everybody's been too damn polite about this nonsense: The "Occupy" movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. "Occupy" is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America. "Occupy" is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the "movement" – HAH! Some "movement", except if the word "bowel" is |
Did Justin Timberlake Rip Up the Dancefloor at the Marine Corps Ball? Posted: 13 Nov 2011 10:33 AM PST Justin Timberlake attended the Marine Corps Ball on Saturday night in Richmond, VA with date Cpl. Kelsey de Santis. Kelsey, who is stationed at the base in Quantico, VA, claims she has skills on the dance floor, and challenged the singer to a dance-off prior to the event. The question is, did Justin accept? The Marine asked Justin to escort her to the bash back in July, after his "Friends With Benefits" costar Mila Kunis accepted a similar invitation from Sgt. Scott Moore. The glitzy night seemed to be a paparazzi-free evening, with only one photo of a tuxedo-wearing Timberlake emerging, from Richmond's WTVR CBS-6. Check out De Santis' invitation below. |

Anton Yelchin On Benicio Del Toro's Role In Star Trek Sequel Posted: 13 Nov 2011 08:55 AM PST While promoting his new film Like Crazy, Anton Yelchin - who plays 'Chekhov' in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek - spoke with Orlando Sentinel about what he doesn't know about the sequel, among which is who Savages' Benicio del Toro will be playing (recent reports suggest that del Toro has been offered the villain role in the film). Yelchin says that, while he doesn't have any idea who del Toro is playing, it would be an honor for him to be on the same set with the actor. Yelchin also talks briefly about the secrecy behind the project, saying that the producers tend to 'keep us in the dark' until the last minute. On Benicio del Toro's possible role in Star Trek 2... I have no idea what Benicio Del Toro is playing. I read online, like everybody else, that he's been having conversations with J.J. No idea what level that's at. J.J. won't |

[spoilers?] I just saw Tarsem's Immortals. This is my quick overview. Posted: 12 Nov 2011 10:42 PM PST It felt like being edged near to orgasm, then abandoned with blue balls and laughed at. This movie was disappointing. I was probably expecting too much. If you expect to experience another 300-type film, you will also be disappointed. I will credit the writers for not being verbose, and never making use of blatant comic relief; it's a serious script, with the right words being spoken. However, the actor of Theseus could not handle the role, and his character was not developed whatsoever; he was just boring. Hyperion was a badass, and nearly every scene with him was awesome, partly due to Rourke, and partly due to the dark contrast of his settings and entourage. Visually, again, the most exciting scenes revolved around Hyperion. Even then, though, you will not see any vast, genuine landscapes like in The Fall. It was mostly CGI and lukewarm. I came to this film expecting a lot of great action, and only got some good action. I kept anticipating Tarsem to compound it all, and build on the energy of previous scenes, but instead just got teased. This movie was like trying to boil water on medium heat. I give it 6.8/10.
