POLL: Which 2013 Superhero Movie Do You Think Will Win The Battle Of The Box Office?

Posted: 16 Nov 2011 10:34 AM PST

I asked you guys which of the big 2012 releases would be the biggest hit at the box office and The Dark Knight Rises came out on top as the clear winner. When it comes to 2013 though, will the victor emerge with such a huge majority? Well, it's between Iron Man 3 (helmed by Shane Black), Man of Steel (helmed by Zack Snyder) and THOR 2 (helmed by Patty Jenkins). Each of these directors are tackling a superhero movie for the first time apart from Snyder who dabbled in the genre with an adaptation of Watchmen back in 2009. So, which do you guys will end up making the most cash come 2013? The fact is, we know very little about each of these movies right now - two of them aren't even filming yet - but that doesn't mean there's not still room for speculation! Here's your chance to

"Extra" confirmed lawyers Lance Rogers and Matthew Pare are no longer representing Mariah Yeater in the case, while TMZ reported the suit was quietly dismissed late last week.

According to RadarOnline.com, however, Yeater has a new legal team, headed by Chicago lawyer Jeffrey Leving, and the suit is still on. In a phone interview with WGN/TV in Chicago, Leving stated, "I did not step down and there is a legal team. It's a new legal team. In light of death threats against my client, strategies have been reviewed... the San Diego team has been replaced by John Carlson from Los Angeles."

Leving continued, "Negotiations are going on right now with Bieber's counsel and we're trying to negotiate a private, secure DNA test with the same safeguards that would exist if there were a court order, but without a court order. The case is completely out of control and I don't want something terrible to happen to my client or her child." In the lawsuit that was originally filed, Yeater claimed she and the the singer had sex in a backstage bathroom at an October 25, 2010 concert.

Clooney Wanted Gosling to Be Sexiest Man

Posted: 16 Nov 2011 11:32 AM PST

Hot couple George Clooney and Stacy Keibler walked the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of "The Descendants" on Tuesday, where Clooney, picked twice for People's Sexiest Man Alive, told "Extra" he was rooting for his "Ides of March" co-star, Ryan Gosling, to take the title, even though Bradley Cooper ended up on the cover.

Clooney joked, "He [Gosling] really wants it. He's been saying... the whole time we were on the set of 'Ides,' he was like, 'How did you pull that off?' So I called up Brad Pitt and we worked with him for weeks on the walk... we told him how to train... everything."

George's lovely GF, Stacy, 32, opted for a sparkly, plunging ensemble, with her beau telling "Extra's" Renee Bargh, "She looks good, doesn't she? She's dressed up." Clooney's parents accompanied their famous son to the premiere, making it the first meeting between his folks and Keibler.

The actor, who plays a workaholic dad trying to reconnect with his daughters in "The Descendants," is already generating Oscar buzz for Best Actor.

Clooney also appeared in a candid interview with Rolling Stone, titled, "Confessions of a Dirty Mind," and said, "I have to have it [my mind] cleaned once a week."

The Many Loves of George Clooney

Kelly Preston

Before she was Mrs. John Travolta, Kelly Preston and George were a hot item in the late '80s.

Talia Balsam

Months after his breakup with Preston, Clooney and actress Talia Balsam took off for Las Vegas in a Winnebago and got hitched in 1989. They divorced 3 years later. The famous bachelor has made it public he did not want to marry again, and to this day has stayed true to his vow.

Celine Balitran

While filming "The Peacemaker" in Paris, the actor met 23-year-old waitress Celine Balitran in 1996. The couple continued to date for another three years before deciding to go their separate ways.

Sarah Larson

In 2007, George attended the Venice Film Festival with 28-year-old Sarah Larson. The two were involved in a motorcycle accident on his Harley and the actor suffered a hairline rib fracture and Larson broke her foot. The following year, the couple called it quits.

Elisabetta Canalis

In 2009 Clooney met and fell in love with Italian model and actress Elisabetta Canalis, 30. After celebrating George's 50th birthday in May, the couple ended their two-year romance announcing to People on June 22, "It's very difficult and very personal, and we hope everyone can respect our privacy."

Am I the only one who disliked Thor?

Posted: 16 Nov 2011 10:44 AM PST

It seems everyone thinks it was good, even great. I think it was a compilation of every superhero cliche possible. The characters were cartoonish at best, childish, and the acting of the supporting cast really wasn't that great, especially Thor's team. Not much to even speak of, the action was weak with like 4 scenes consisting of either a lot of CGI or just weak action sequences, so I couldn't even say that the action was entertaining. I baffles me that a lot of you guys constantly diss dumb movies like this, yet Thor is favored?

Comic book movies were consistently pretty bad this year, Cpt. America was average and not memorable, Green Lantern was even worse than Thor. First Class was the only good comic book movie.

Which movie did you initially not like and now ask yourself how you could have been so stupid? Alternatively, which movie did you originally like and you now ask yourself the same question?

Posted: 16 Nov 2011 10:15 AM PST

I saw Blade Runner at the theater with a couple of buddies, they were blown away and I was kinda "meh." I was a kid, but still.... It is now one of my all time favorites movies, if not the favorite.

I tried watching Citizen Kane several times and was just bored every time and turned it off. On the third or fourth try, I finally understood why it was a masterpiece. Sometimes you just have to be in the right mood to be receptive to a particular kind of movie, I guess.

Have you seen "Triangle," the paradox/horror flick? Mmmmmmmmmm I loved it. Have not seen a thinking horror like it since Identity.

Posted: 16 Nov 2011 11:09 AM PST

Not going to spoil anything here, just wanted to say I heard of it from someone on this board and I loved the movie. Thank you for making the recommendation and may all you fans of thinker-horror appreciate it.

Feel free to substitute "horror" with "suspense" if you like. It's not a movie about gore (which is probably what most think "horror" means).

South Park renewed through Season 20

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have reached a new deal with Comedy Central to extend cable's longest-running animated series, South Park, it was announced today by Michele Ganeless, president, Comedy Central. The deal for three additional seasons ensures the top-rated Emmy&#174 and Peabody Award-winning series will remain in original episodes through 2016 and a milestone 20th season.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone will continue to write, direct and edit every episode of South Park, as they have since the premiere of the series in 1997.

"The collective genius of Trey Parker and Matt Stone knows no bounds," said Ganeless.

"Week after week and season after season they continue to surprise and delight South Park fans, and that includes all of us here at Comedy Central. We're thrilled that the adventures of Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman will continue through 2016."

Wrath of the Titans Settles Title Dispute with Bluewater Productions

Posted: 16 Nov 2011 09:12 AM PST

Earlier this year Warner Brothers announced the sequel to its successful 2010 blockbuster Clash of the Titans would be called Wrath of the Titans. Problem was, at the time, the name was already trademarked by comic book publisher Bluewater Productions.

Bluewater, who had already published two comic book mini-series under that moniker, recently announced that an agreement was reached with the studio whereby the movie will carry the previously announced Wrath title in exchange for licensing rights to the name.

"It's a win-win for everybody,' said Bluewater president Darren G. Davis, "We saved Warner Brothers millions in possible rebranding expenses and Bluewater gets to keep the name for various Greek-themed projects."

According to Bluewater, several projects are already in the final stages of development including motion comic based on the two previously published graphic novels (2008's Wrath of the Titans. Also a new graphic novel through SCB, Wrath of the Titans: Revenge of Medusa) will be out in February, a new series and a book aimed at juvenile readers by CW Cooke and Ramon Salas. Also in development is a radio drama broadcast from Colonial Radio Theater, which will air in February on Sirius/XM.

Bluewater has also hired a licensing agent Danny Simon from "The Licensing Group" to help develop other related properties such as toys, video games and more.

"We are thrilled to have been selected by Bluewater Productions to represent their titles for licensing. Bluewater Productions has developed action/adventure properties that are highly creative, and the kind of material that has proved so success in attracting fans and generating successful licensing programs.," said Danny Simon from the Licensing Group.

The movie, which is scheduled to release in 2012, is still officially listed as Clash of the Titans 2 on IMBD, but Warner Brothers is now free to use the name as the official movie title. Bluewater's licensing efforts will not include character likenesses or other materials directly attributed to the film but take a more classic approach.

"Our version of Wrath is being retooled for a younger audience. The original graphic novels (written by Davis and his brother Scott Davis), will stand alone as individual stories, but going forward, our Wrath universe will be more in line with classic mythology," Davis said. "It's going to be part action -adventure, part education and all fun."

Both graphic novels, single releases are still available through traditional retail outlets, comic book shops and several online venues including Amazon.com and the Barnes and Noble online stores. Digital versions of each book are also available on the Nook and Kindle.

Wrath of the Titans comes to theaters March 30th, 2012 and stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Édgar Ramírez, Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell, Danny Huston. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman.
