Posted: 24 Nov 2011 09:58 AM PST Source: Movies.com The venerable Marti Noxon discusses two of her upcoming writing projects, the troubled Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and the live-action Tinkerbell feature, Tink. Movies.com: What is going on with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and why do you think it's such a difficult project to get off the ground? Marti Noxon: "That's a really good question and I really can't say because my experience with Lionsgate was always great. They are committed to doing it and really smart and my experience with Craig [Gillespie] was, again, great. Everybody seemed very pleased with where the script ended up, so it's really a little baffling. I would say it probably, in my suspicions, has to do with the marketplace. It's very hard to sell a comedy-horror concept. As much as it's already pre-sold and popular much in the same way Fright Night was, it's still a little risky. At the same time, |
Posted: 24 Nov 2011 09:38 AM PST Source: Shock Til You Drop Greg Nicotero has a great resume that features some great monster/creature movies; having worked on "Day of the Dead", "Evil Dead II", "Army of Darkness ", "Land of the Dead", "Diary of the Dead", amongst a truly staggering filmography Nicotero is probably the go-to-guy for SFX in these types of films. I highly recommend you check out his filmography list, it's astounding. In regards to The Evil Dead reboot, here's what Nicotero told STYD about possibly jumping on the project which will be helmed by Fede Alvarez and features a script from Diablo Cody: Nicotero: ""We would love to do [that project]. I believe they might be shooting in New Zealand, so that might be prohibitive. I know they would love to have us and I know we'd love to do it, I just don't know where it's going to go. Legendary Pictures Clears Up Misconceptions About The Big-Screen Adaption Of Mass Effect Posted: 24 Nov 2011 09:37 AM PST Source: ScreenRant Let me preface this news with the fact that despite having an extremely poor track record, video game movie adaptions are poised to become the next source for Hollywood tentpole franchises. Similar to what he saw with CBM's [we suffered through movies like Steel, Howard the Duck, Batman & Robin, and many others before Hollywood produced gems like Blade, Spider-Man, Iron Man and The Dark Knight] the video game movies are paying their dues, figuring out the formula, so-to-speak, about how to transform successful video games to the big screen. Set to benefit from this early tinkering are adaptions of Assassins Creed, Uncharted, BioShock, and of course Mass Effect. In a bit of an odd twist, the official Legendary Pictures website posted a Q&A seemingly contradicting everything previously stated at this years San Diego Comic-Con. Well, the site has now been updated with information that not only |
Holiday Recipe from a Top Hollywood Chef! Posted: 24 Nov 2011 11:15 AM PST Hollywood chef Jason "Chef J" Harley is ready to help you prepare a simple holiday dish this season. Here is Chef J's recipe for a lemon, garlic, rosemary, Cornish Game Hen, which also works with chicken or turkey. 1 whole Cornish game hen -- butterflied from the back bone 1. Butterfly hen from the backbone so that it is split in half. (Do all of this a day before so it can have great flavor from your spices and herb rub.) 2. Rub oil all over bird -- both sides. 3. Season the bird with the salt and pepper, rub zested lemon, chopped rosemary and garlic all over bird on both sides and let sit overnight in the fridge. 4. Heat two baking pans in a 500-degree oven. 5. Spray the inside of the pan on the bottom and top with nonstick spray, place another pan to cover the bird. 6. Place back in 500-degree oven with a brick or heavy weight (like a soup can) on the top pan and let cook for 25 minutes until GBD (golden brown and delicious). 7. If checked with a cooking thermometer, the bird should read at least 165 degrees before serving the bird. 8. Take out of oven, cut into 1/4's and squeeze fresh lemon juice all over. 9. Serve and eat! Check a few celebrity-inspired holiday recipes! Nickelback and 10 Other Musical Acts You Hate Just as Much Posted: 24 Nov 2011 01:45 PM PST Filed under: News, Exclusive, The Hit List C Flanigan, FilmMagic The Portugese have even thrown rocks at 'em and despite their party-hearty music seemingly purpose-built for macho stuff like football, people in Winnipeg and Detroit have passionately petitioned against their half-time show performances. Their booking at Motor City's Thanksgiving Day NFL game became such a viral cause celebre that the Can-Rockers headed over to the Funny or Die offices to film a response video, displaying heretofore unseen self-awareness about how much people hate them. Heck, Canadian music channel AUX even built a Nickelblock app that, once installed, will erase any mention of the band in your web browser. What Nickelback represents is the dividing line in music's culture war. For their fans, Nickelback's music is a cathartic escape from the drudgery of life -- a place where women magically drop their pants on command, free beers are heaved in your direction at random and the lyrics of songs like 'Something in Your Mouth' qualify as poetry. But popularity is a double-edged sword and many an act has felt the slicing cut of knowing that for every devoted fan they have, there are just as many people who would rather cozy up with a pickle. (A Facebook group called "Can this pickle get more fans than Nickleback?" (sic) beat the Canadian bad boys.) The release of Nickelback's new album, 'Here And Now,' has, of course, sent a wave of haterade in their direction, but we thought it important to note that they're not alone. And so, we present 10 acts people hate as much as Nickelback. |

Joseph Mazzello On Playing Mouse in G.I. Joe 2 and Returning for Jurassic Park 4 Posted: 24 Nov 2011 08:40 AM PST Joseph Mazzello recently revealed new details about his Mouse character in G.I. Joe: Retaliation to the Dutch website filmtotaal. As best as I can translate it, he said, "It's something completely different, but I have a lot of fun filming my scenes. I play Mouse, a new Joe with his gun firing bullets and controlling them with a joystick in certain directions can be sent." That is the best I could do with Google translate. But, from what I've also read, basically Mouse will be a brash young Joe who brings technology to the battle. What follows is an excerpt from Joe's interview with heyuguys.co.uk And you're currently shooting G.I. Joe 2? I am. I'm on hiatus from that at the moment. It's going great. [Director] Jon Chu is fantastic and we actually went to school together and he texted me one day with a 'Hey, I have a role for |

The singer's new restaurant, The Soul Kitchen, aims to feed and empower those who are less fortunate. Jovi explains, "People are going to bed hungry. This is New Jersey in America... that shouldn't be happening." The philanthropist gave an inside tour of the new eatery to "Extra's" AJ Calloway, and explained, "We developed this system where there are no prices on our menus. There's a minimum suggested donation, and then anything above that covers the guy's meal next to you." The Soul Kitchen is not a soup kitchen, but a place for people in need of a meal to volunteer in lieu of payment. "[This is] what they can do in order to come into the restaurant... is volunteer." Bon Jovi is not only heads the foundation -- he also offers up his time and hard work at the restaurant, located in Red Bank, NJ. "I'm really good at washing dishes. That's my job. I don't cook... you don't want to eat my food. But your dishes, I guarantee you, are clean!" Calloway insisted on teaching Jon how to cook. Bon Jovi came back with, "Can you be a celebrity chef and come in here and volunteer?" AJ replied, "Oh, man, I would love to!" The New Jersey native reminded AJ of the promise, saying, "Got that on camera!" To find out how you can help Bon Jovi's delicious cause, click here. |
