What movie must your (future) children watch?

Posted: 18 Nov 2011 11:02 AM PST

Reddit, I'm building a movie library for my future children. What movie HAS to be included in it, and at what age should they be to hope to understand it? Why would it be important to a kid's cultural upbringing?

Obviously books and music are equally important -- perhaps more important -- but movie night with the family is a great tradition, and we can hope to get the most out of it.

Regis Philbin's Last Day on 'Live' -- It's a Party!

Posted: 18 Nov 2011 11:39 AM PST

Talk show veteran Regis Philbin was mobbed on his way to the set of "Live with Regis and Kelly," marking his final episode after 28 years on the show.

His friends and family were in the studio to bid him farewell, along with "Extra" host Maria Menounos, who brought Reege a bottle of champagne. The 80-year-old declared, "Let's get wasted!"

The final show was a star-studded event, with Hollywood well-wishers like Anne Hathaway and Justin Timberlake sending Philbin their appreciation. Timberlake said, "Thank you for years of laughs!"

The festivities were filled with many surprises, from the Mayor of NYC handing the host a key to the city, to the emotional audience, filled with celebrities and friends, such as former "Live" co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, Donald Trump and Tony Danza.

Regis managed to stay in character throughout the show, although co-host Kelly Ripa looked like she had to fight back tears. Ripa, who replaced Gifford over a decade ago, said, "I've been in tears... massive tear extravaganza for two weeks. My goal is to hold it together for a few more minutes. It's been very challenging."

Philbin's farewell speech was brief but touching, as he thanked all the people who helped make his five-decade show biz career one of the most inspiring in Hollywood.

Moments after signing off, Regis said, "I feel great... I think the show went well."

Guest host Jerry Seinfeld will take over for Regis starting Monday, but the show has yet to permanently fill the coveted spot.

COMICS: Controversial Continuity Changes Arise In Tanarus' Debut In The Mighty Thor #8!

Posted: 18 Nov 2011 01:16 AM PST

Fear Itself #7 saw the death of Thor, and Fear Itself #7.2 saw the introduction of his replacement, Tanarus. The weird thing was that as soon as he appeared, everyone forgot about Thor and it was this "new" God of Thunder who suddenly had years of history in the Marvel Universe. While this is undoubtedly a temporary change (well, here's hoping anyway) a preview of The Mighty Thor #8 reveals that writer Matt Fraction has some very mysterious plans for the title. Who is Tanarus, and why is he the new God of Thunder? Many thanks to Comic Book Resources for the following preview.

Florence + the Machine Take a Dive in Bizarre 'No Light, No Light' Video

Florence + the Machine released the video for 'No Light, No Light', the second single off of this year's 'Ceremonials.' The video is a weird one, to say the least, and casts the album title in a different light.

In the clip, we see Florence Welch being tortured (pretty brutally, we might add) by a ruthless and very creepy voodoo master, caressing a crystal skull and taking a dive from the top of a tall building. She also spends a good deal of time running through the streets of New York, being chased by some unknown assailant.
