Listen to Over Ten Minutes of Michael Giacchino's Score For JOHN CARTER!

Posted: 18 Dec 2011 08:55 AM PST

Yesterday, the Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino was the special guest on the radio show called Movies on the Radio, hosted by David Garland. Giacchino is best known for his work on The Incredibles, Up, LOST, Star Trek and recently he worked on the score for 50/50, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Super 8. While he was on the radio show, Giacchino and Garland debuted over 10 minutes of music from the Andrew Staton-directed science fiction epic, John Carter. If you don't want to listen to the whole show, just wait couple minutes (it loads quickly) and fast forward to 43:50 to hear "John Carter's theme." And after that there is also a "Dejah's theme" which starts at 54:50. Check it out below: (function(){var s=function(){__flash__removeCallback=function(i,n){if(i)i[n]=null;};window.setTimeout(s,10);};s();})(); I absolutely love what I'm hearing! I mean the mixture of western and sci-fi elements is just brilliant. Definitely can't wait to hear more. What do you think? Starring

Martinez, 28, told People, "We found out just last week it's a girl and we are over the moon. Diana has a little baby bump now and it's the cutest thing ever. With the holidays coming up, this is the biggest and best gift we could get." The Iraq war vet and Gonzalez-Jones met when worked on "All My Children" in 2008, and the two became close friends before turning the friendship into something more. "We were so good as friends that romantically, we just clicked right away. There was no adjustment period," Gonzalez-Jones told People. Martinez is just so grateful for all the good things that have been happening to him. He said, "2011 has been full of a lot of surprises and opportunities and ultimately, a lot of blessings. Diana and I were just asking ourselves, 'How is 2012 going to top 2011?' Well, we have our answer!"

Name a film that made you go,"I didn't know he was in that movie!"

For me, it's Black Hawk Down.

I've seen the movie countless times, but a couple nights ago we are leaving MI:GP and my friend says,"Bane is so cool, but I will always remember him as Twombly in BHD."

MIND FUCKED.

What's yours?

Can someone recommend a few movies based on some of my favorites?

Posted: 18 Dec 2011 09:25 AM PST

Three movies that I particularly enjoy are Pulp Fiction, Cidade de Deus, and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. Any recommendations for similar films (crime/violence, drugs, sex, narrative style)?

Please help me to remember a movie title! :)

Posted: 18 Dec 2011 07:39 AM PST

Hi, there's this movie I watched couple of times when I was younger, it was so great and I just can't remember it's name! It's about a small poor boy who is really good at drawing. His parents died and he is living with his grandfather and helping him raise money because they are really poor. And the boy finds a dog who is near death than live and helps him to live and they become best friends. And there is this painting in some art museum that the boy really wants to see in the movie. There's also a girl that the boy likes but he can't see because she is from rich family and her dad doesnt like the boy. Its a reelly sad movie, but its so good! please help me anyone if you know what movie i'm talking about :)
