Ok GoCaitlin Mogridge, Redferns

If you've seen the video for OK Go's 'This Too Shall Pass,' you've probably thought the same as us: "Man, that's a sweeeeet marching band outfit!" So guess what? That bad boy could be yours if you're the highest bidder for the pay-what-you-want Holiday Hunger Bundle, an exclusive charity music compilation featuring unreleased tracks by OK Go ('All Is Not Lost'), of Montreal ('Feminine Effects') and We Are Scientists (acoustic version of 'Central AC') as well as a tune from Drive-by Truckers ('The Thanksgiving Filter').

Each dollar donated means a meal for people in need. And, if the fine folks behind the Holiday Hunger Bundle campaign meet their goal of getting 1,000 meals out, they'll tack on a special unreleased Christmas song from New York popsters the Postelles.

Tom Hiddleston Reiterates Loki's Evolution From THOR To THE AVENGERS And More!

Last but not least, FilmInk's visit to the set of Marvel's The Avengers movie included a chat with the actor behind Thor's God Of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston. Rehashing on things the character's been through since failing in Thor, while seemingly teasing his mystery "army," read on below! "He and Thor literally have superhuman powers," the British actor says. "Within the Marvel Universe, Loki has the keys to the universe, and he's been down all those dark alleyways in space. He's met all the monsters and made friends with them." Alluding to the backstory, saying that between the gap from Thor's end and The Avengers's beginning, Loki has taken a journey to the Marbel version of The Seventh Circle Of Hell and brought back secrets. "He's an all-power-being," he says smiling. "Loki's agenda, like all delusional, would-be autoratic fascists, is power, which he believes will give him self-esteem. I haven't let go of the

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, A Dangerous Method, Young Adult, The Artist, The Adventures of Tin Tin, Mission Impossible, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Hugo...Just the other day it felt like nothing good was out!

Not sure why they dumped all these movies (with the exception of Hugo but I haven't seen it) this week. Maybe Hollywood should spread things out a bit?

That said I hope I have time to see my family with all these great movies out this weekend.

After watching Donnie Darko again, I want opinions.

Posted: 23 Dec 2011 09:47 AM PST

Ok, so Donnie is woken by Frank and he walks to the golf course because Frank woke him. This causes Donnie to escape his death. This also opens a tangent universe which Donnie must close. Frank leads Donnie through the path that would allow him to undo everything in the tangent universe, close it and save the world. In order for this to happen, he has to die in bed via the falling plane engine. So why does Frank wake him to begin with? If Frank lets him sleep, he doesn't have to have Donnie go through the entire plot since the tangent never would have opened.

TL;DR - Why does Frank wake Donnie, setting off the series of events that Frank then helps Donnie to undo?

Just saw The Muppets...

Posted: 23 Dec 2011 10:35 AM PST

I was blown away, one of the best movies I ever saw for so many reasons! Hilarious, great music, emotional, silly, great story, so many awesome cameos, unexpected moments! I can honestly put this at the top of my favorite movies list, seems like a weird one to put there. Anyways, I strongly suggest you catch this in theaters! It is a very fun experience!

10 movie badasses that were neutered by sequels

Movies that have foreseen the future?

Posted: 23 Dec 2011 09:20 AM PST

I was walking the dog today in London and it started absolutely pouring down with rain, this got me thinking about a series on television called Flood, in which London see's epic amounts of rain, the flood barrier breaks etc..

This subsequently got me thinking about movies and whether they have been able to accurately paint a picture of something that has happened in the future?

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Though the movie was released in 1998, this is still the coolest/sexiest/best love scene I've ever come across...

The Polar Express. Beowulf. Tintin. Hyper-realistic CGI Movies. Do you like the effect, or does it creep you the hell out?

Posted: 23 Dec 2011 07:54 AM PST

Name a film that you love by a director you otherwise loathe or indifferent to.

Posted: 23 Dec 2011 08:48 AM PST

Easy one for me, John Landis. Trading Places is one of the best comedies the 80's and to a lesser extent The Blues Brothers. Other than that gem and a half, he's had a career of less comedies and horrid sequels (Beverly Hills Cop III, The Stupids)

The Extra List: 5 Interesting Facts about 'X Factor' Winner Melanie Amaro

Posted: 23 Dec 2011 10:39 AM PST

Crowned the first season's winner of "X Factor," Melanie Amaro told "Extra" the $5-million prize money -- the largest in TV history -- was "beginning to sink in!"

amaro-cowell.jpg

Amaro expressed her gratitude to executive producer and mentor Simon Cowell, and said, "He was so happy!"

"X Factor" judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul had a few rumors to set straight, starting with Paula addressing Simon's recent interview with Barbara Walters. Cowell told Walters he believes "a million percent" that Paula wants him. Abdul sarcastically declared, "I want Simon so much... just like I want canker sores, paper cuts, eye infections..."

Nicole Scherzinger, who was recently snapped with comedian Dane Cook, denied they were a couple, saying, "No, absolutely not. There's nothing."

5 Interesting Facts About 'X Factor' Winner Melanie Amaro

No Fast Pass?!

The singer was denied a Fast Pass at a local audition in Florida -- which puts talented contestants at the front of the line at the official "X Factor" audition.A determined Amaro decided to wait "in line with all the thousands of people." It sure paid off!

Baby Steps to Stardom

Melanie, 19, began singing when she was just six months old.Amaro explained, "At six months, a baby's spine isn't aligned yet to sit up straight on your own," says Melanie. "But I was sitting up on the crib, sitting up on my own and just singing. [My mom] said she didn't have a clue what I was singing, but it sounded so pretty and she said it was music. She said right after I finished singing I would just lay my head back down and fall asleep."

What Accent?

Viewers were surprised to find out that Melanie used to hide her Caribbean accent, during an "X Factor" episode.Speaking backstage after one of the shows, Amaro admitted, "I've always tried to curb [my Caribbean accent]. But tonight, it came out, and I couldn't help but to speak the way I normally do at home. A lot of people say they have a hard time understanding me when I speak, so I try cater to them. Now I have no choice but to continue to speak the way I normally speak. I'll be a lot more comfortable now that I don't have to think about things to say in an American accent."

Thanks, Mayor!

Mayor Mike Ryan helped raise some money the Amaros family to travel from Sunrise, Florida to California to see Melanie perform (and win!) in the final show.

$5 Million Richer

After winning the $5-million prize, Melanie already began thinking about what she plans to do with the money. She told People that she plans to get a foot massage, a house for her mom, and a lifetime supply of chicken!Amaro talked about the Florida home her family currently lives in, saying, "It sucks."The chicken? It's her favorite food! "I can't live without it.""Life will change a lot," she said. "The most I ever had before was $200, if I was lucky."
