Hugh Jackman Says The Wolverine Will Be Filled With Rage; Will Have Less Focus On Other Characters

Posted: 08 Oct 2011 09:43 AM PDT

Speaking with The Guardian newspaper while promoting Real Steel, Hugh Jackman - perhaps best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men films - says The Wolverine will be much simpler than 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, saying that it won't have as many characters (he believes that the main flaw was that it had too many characters). He also reveals that the film goes more into the character, and that they have the chance to 'nail the character', which Jackman believes hasn't been done yet. "I think we've got the chance to nail the character this time, to do the hole-in-one. We haven't managed that yet. On the last movie, we complicated it with too many other characters. And there'll be more women this time, which is good. The last one was so masculine! "The new film will go more into the character. I don't think we've ever seen his rage

According to People.com, the single 23-year-old stepped out in London with British boxer and model Dudley O'Shaughnessy, who appeared in the music video for her latest single, "We Found Love." The pair reportedly were photographed exiting the popular club Mahiki early Friday morning, following her performance at the O2 Arena, reports The Daily Mail. It's no surprise Rihanna wasn't camera shy with her guy. During her recent Irish farm video shoot, a source close to the singer vocalized a possible budding romance between the duo. Sources say she single-handedly selected O'Shaughnessy, 21, to be in her video.

Real Steel Fights Its Way To The Top Of The US Box Office With $8.6 Million!

Posted: 08 Oct 2011 09:47 AM PDT

The Hollywood Reporter reveal that Real Steel, which stars Hugh Jackman, has fought its way to the #1 position at the US box office. The movie took $8.6M yesterday, although how well it ultimately does will depend on whether it can continue to attract an audience over the weekend. Apparently, it's currently headed for a $24M or $26M debut, a fair bit short of the predicted $30M+ opening. The site also reports that there's a chance it could push that figure upwards of $27M if families turn out in full force, and with a budget of $110M, Dreamworks must be keeping their fingers crossed that they'll make that up when it's released internationally over the coming weeks.

Boondock Saints motorcycle to be revealed in the name of hunger

The Wolverine to Be Filled with Rage Says Hugh Jackman

Posted: 08 Oct 2011 09:25 AM PDT

The Wolverine to be filled with rage says Hugh Jackman

Whether you loved it or hated it, not many can argue against the fact that 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a bloated, heavy film that, like the X-Men films before it, simply shoved to many characters and plot lines into its two hour running time. Hugh Jackman promises that won't be the case with the next installment in the further adventures of Logan.

While out promoting Real Steel this weekend, Hugh Jackman took some time out to address the impending stand alone adventure The Wolverine, and promises that it will solely focus on his character of Logan, and that he will be a leaner, meaner fighting machine.

This is what Hugh Jackman had to say about the next Marvel Mutant adventure to hit the big screen.

"The Wolverine will do the character justice and show his uncontrollable "rage". I think we've got the chance to nail the character this time, to do the hole-in-one. We haven't managed that yet. On the last movie, we complicated it with too many other characters. And there'll be more women this time, which is good. The last one was so masculine! The new film will go more into the character. I don't think we've ever seen his rage expressed properly. We're letting go with this one of the whole, 'Who am I? Where did I come from? Oh no, I've lost my memory,' thing. I feel like that's sent us all to sleep. 'Yeah, whatever pal. We're bored! Fine, you were a sushi chef, whatever it was, can we just get on with the story now?'"

Mark Bomback, whose upcoming slate includes the remakes Total Recall and Jack the Giant Killer, is currently penning an all-new draft of The Wolverine. James Mangold will direct the movie once Hugh Jackman is done fucking around on the set of that weird musical Les Miserables.

The Wolverine comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by James Mangold.

I'm sure I'm not the only one loving the new J. Edgar posters.
