Justice League - From Babel to Doom with Mark Waid

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 10:23 AM PDT

As the animated adventure Justice League: Doom unfolds, that information has reached enemy hands and is being used against the group. Set to be released on Blu-ray and DVD in February, Justice League: Doom is loosely adapted by the late Dwayne McDuffie from the classic comic book story "Tower Of Babel," written by Mark Waid. It features the voice talents of Tim Daly as Superman, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman, Michael Rosenbaum as the Flash, Carl Lumbly as Martian Manhunter and Nathan Fillion is Green Lantern. "I loved the idea that when you're dealing with the Justice League of America, there's only so many weapons you can throw at them and only so many threats that they can't handle," Waid reflects exlusively with Superhero Tooniverse. "So it occurred to me that information is a very slippery beast to have to fight, because you can't punch anything. I honestly believe

Producers Robert Kirkman & Gale Anne Hurd Discuss The Walking Dead Season 2

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 10:14 AM PDT

Luckily for fans, AMC opted to bring The Walking Dead back for a second season, doubling the number of episodes in the process. With that number increased, it will give the writers of the show a chance to delve deeper into the characters, their back-stories and getting them to reflect their comic book counter parts. THR got to have a chat with the show's producers, Robert Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd to discuss the characters and their direction this season as well as some key plot questions that were left unanswered at the end of last season. What did Jenner whisper to Rick at the CDC? When Season 1 ended, the band of survivors was suddenly forced back onto the road to nowhere after Jenner blew up the CDC shortly after whispering something to Rick. What did he tell him and when will that be revealed? "We certainly tease it in the

3 directors that you wish were household names today

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 09:25 AM PDT

I know some people who can't even name 3 directors, let alone have preferred ones and yet these people know about the personal lives of more actors/actresses than they have friends. Kind of depressing that visionaries aren't household names.

You can debate the familiarity of a number of directors in the right circles, but I'm talking about surveying any neighborhood and confidently saying 8/10 adults will know the name.

My 3: Michael Haneke Wong Kar Wai *Paul Thomas Anderson

They don't have to be living. I just sort of decided on those for their work recently.

Weekly Giveaway: Death of the Virgin on Blu-Ray

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 09:46 AM PDT

Is it just me, or are most movie soundtracks nowadays just not very memorable? And what happened to original themes?

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 09:39 AM PDT

I'm thinking of early stuff done by people like John Williams (e.g. Star Wars, Superman), James Horner (Aliens) and Harold Faltermeyer (Fletch, Beverly Hills Cop).

With the exception of a few recent movies (like Inception), I don't really associate many recent movies with any particular music.

Rick Ross to Perform Despite Suffering Seizures

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 09:50 AM PDT

Rapper Rick Ross is reportedly in a stable condition -- and ready to perform -- after suffering from two seizures in one day. According to TMZ, Ross - whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II - was scheduled to do a show for a University of Memphis basketball event Friday. On the flight from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing when Ross lost mid-consciousness on board. Later, Ross was reportedly feeling better and tweeted, "Memphis here I come" and uploaded a video of himself boarding a new flight. On the second flight, however, Ross suffered another seizure, and the private jet had to land in Birmingham, where the rapper received treatment at a hospital. Ross is slated to perform at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina as part of homecoming at North Carolina A&T State University Saturday. An employee at the venue told TMZ that Ross' people called to confirm that he is doing better and will be on stage as planned.

Tom Hiddleston Reveals New Details About The Avengers, the Trailer And Much More!

Posted: 15 Oct 2011 09:09 AM PDT

Once again from a roundtable chat at this year's New York Comic Con, 'Loki' actor Tom Hiddleston discussed more about his reprisal on Marvel's The Avengers. Rehashing on Loki's evil plans, his weapon, his relationship with Stellan Skarsgard, among other things, via Comic Book Resources, read the lengthy interview below. On why Loki needs to take out his vengeance on earth... "Like all delusional autocrats he doesn't see it as vengeance, he sees it as a good thing. He's come down to earth to subjugate it, to rule the human race as their king, and his primary argument is this planet is rife and populated by people who are constantly fighting each other. If they're all united together in their reverence of one king, there will be no war. I'm not sure he's right about that. But that's his reasoning.
