Tiger's Putts Not Interrupted by Hot Dog Toss

Posted: 10 Oct 2011 11:00 AM PDT

A man has been arrested for throwing a hot dog in the direction of Tiger Woods during the final round of the Frys.com Open in San Marin, Calif. on Sunday.

The dog and bun fell short, landing about 20 feet from where Woods was standing.

"Some guy just came running on the green, and he had a hot dog," Tiger explained after the tournament. "I don't know how he tried to throw it, but I was kind of focusing on my putt when he started yelling. Next thing I know, he laid on the ground, and looked like he wanted to be arrested."

As Tiger prepared to put on the seventh hole, the man with the foot long ran toward the pro golfer and yelled out, "Tiger!" Woods resumed his putting as if nothing happened, but missed the shot.

Deadmau5 Closes Out Six-Night Run at New York's Roseland Ballroom

The biggest EDM news of the moment in New York may be the drama surrounding Swedish House Mafia's upcoming Madison Square Concert and its beleaguered ticketing process, but anyone upset they hate to wait in a weighty Ticketmaster queue had a pretty epic pacifier they could attend. Deadmau5, aka Joel Zimmerman, closed out his record-setting six-night run at the famed Roseland Ballroom on Sunday, Oct. 9, bringing his particular brand of dance tracks to a predictably eager audience.

Zimmerman adopted his rodent alter-ego after finding a dead mouse inside his computer and relaying the info to friends on an Internet chat board. His music is strikingly well-composed, with an apparent focus on production that is perhaps unmatched within his genre. Songs like
'Raise Your Weapon' and 'Strobe' are sensitive, ethereal and energetic in a way that translates seamlessly to a performance that feels, frankly, a bit like mass. Perched in his infamous cube, which reportedly cost over $2 million dollars to create, and surrounded by keyboards, mixers and other equipment, Zimmerman glides through songs with exacting precision. Dubstep-heavy openers such as 'Excision' and 'Feed Me' batter the crowd with wobbly sounds that make deadmau5's set feel supremely clean and well put together.

Julia Roberts on Playing Ryan Reynolds' Mom in 'Fireflies'

Posted: 10 Oct 2011 10:37 AM PDT

Actress Julia Roberts sat down with "Extra" correspondent Jerry Penacoli to talk about her new drama, "Fireflies in the Garden," in which she plays the mother of Ryan Reynolds. "He's a good boy," joked Roberts. "I raised a nice boy."
julia-roberts.jpg
Roberts co-stars as a woman whose unexpected death throws her grown son (Reynolds) together with his estranged father (Willem Dafoe) as the family tries to pick up the pieces. Did it feel strange for Roberts to age in a film? She smiled, "I'm thinking I need to use more night cream if this is where I'm headed." Roberts was also pregnant with her son, Henry, now 4, while making "Fireflies." The star explained, "You can really see how pregnant I was, and I think that will be thrilling for all the kids to see." Her twins, Hazel and Phineas, will be 7 in November -- and Julia can't believe it. "The passage of time is something that is just so mysterious... it just goes faster and faster." Roberts, too, will be celebrating a birthday October 28. Any big plans? "No, probably not. You know dinner or something." But she did say her husband, cinematographer Danny Moder, will probably do something special. "The man's going to step up. He always does." "Fireflies in the Garden" floats into theaters Friday, October 14.

Drive Trailer Sparks Lawsuit

Drive's 'misleading' trailer sparks a lawsuit against FilmDistrict

The critically-acclaimed drama Drive is currently playing in theaters, and a Michigan woman is suing its distributor for false advertising. Sarah Deming filed a lawsuit against FilmDistrict, claiming the trailer misled her into thinking it was an action movie inline with Fast & Furious. Here's an excerpt from the lawsuit below.

"[The studio] promoted the film Drive as very similar to the Fast & Furious, or similar series of movies. Drive bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film...having very little driving in the motion picture."

The woman was also offended by Drive's excessive violence and racism towards the Jewish community.

"Drive was a motion picture that substantially contained extreme gratuitous defamatory dehumanizing racism directed against members of the Jewish faith, and thereby promoted criminal violence against members of the Jewish faith."

Sarah Deming is not only seeking to be reimbursed for the cost of her Drive ticket, but she is also seeking a ban on misleading movie trailers. You can clickHere to watch the news segment from a Detroit TV station discussing the lawsuit.

Drive was released September 16th, 2011 and stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks, Oscar Isaac, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman, Kaden Leos. The film is directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.
